Rhonda Wiley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 15, 2023.
Rhonda Wiley, a devoted mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on April 3rd, 2023, at the age of 66. She was born on October 11th, 1956 in Deming, NM to Buddy Stephens and Lula Bell Mallard. Rhonda's greatest love was her family, and she always made sure they knew it. Her children were proud to call her Mom, and received texts at bedtime if she hadn't spoken with them that day, "Goodnight. I love you."

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren affectionately knew her as "Nana," a name she cherished. She made sure each one felt loved by her and was careful not to leave anyone out.

She treasured moments shared with family and friends. When she came home on weekends, she would often fret that there wasn't enough time to spend with everyone, but she'd always put forth the extra effort to make it happen. She loved dancing and fishing and was hard to beat if you challenged her to a game of pool. She knew how to have a good time, and wanted everyone around her having a good time as well.

Rhonda is survived by her children: Kimberly Johnson, Brandi and Kevin Tackett, and Kyle Evans; grandchildren: Felicity and Tony Gutierrez, Kynlie Johnson, Cyleigh Ortiz, Addalyn Tackett, Kory Evans, Brynn Hutson, Easton Tackett and Kyndle Evans; great-grandchildren: Tony James and Stetson Gutierrez; siblings: Eddie and Margie Stephens, Sheri and Andy Hale, Lori Weatherford, Donna and Austin Pierce, and Lisa Alford and David Goldstein. She was predeceased by her brother, Gary Stephens; mother, Lula Bell Mallard; and father, Buddy Stephens.

The family invites you to join them for a celebration of Rhonda's life on April 27th, 2023, at 4:00 pm at Sacred Heart Holtman Hall in Rockne, TX. Rhonda will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and devotion to family will live on.

Rhonda will be very missed and was an incredible mother to her kiddos. She loved big and was so much fun. Her heart was huge and this world is going to miss her smile. May she live on through her family and they feel her close.

Rhonda was a very kind and generous woman. I will always be grateful to her for teaching Christina the value of getting a job that did not send you home, smelling like pizza!
