Ricardo Arredondo

Ricardo Arredondo 68 of La Copita Texas passed away on August 18, 2025 he was born to Raphael Arredondo and Lydia Benavides on April 3, 1957.

He was a man of the land with his cattle, and livestock, he was a farmer at heart, just like his father before him. He loved working the soil, growing watermelons, squash, cucumber, tomatoes and so many other things that connected him to the earth and to his roots.

Though he spent many years working as an insurance agent with American National he also worked in the oil field and later after retirement, his true joy and peace were always found at the ranch. That was his sanctuary, the place where his heart felt most alive.

It is a comfort to us all to know that he passed in peace surrounded by his family at home and that he will be laid to rest here, at the very ranch he loved so dearly. This land was part of him, and now he will forever be a part of it.

We will remember him for his hard work, his love for family, and the quiet pride he took in living close to the land. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the soil he worked, in the crops he grew, his cattle and in the love he passed down to us.

He is survived by his wife Rosa Elva Arredondo of La Copita, TX one daughter Yvonne Arredondo of La Copita, TX one son Ricardo Arredondo Jr. (Kasandra Villarreal) of Premont, TX seven brothers Hilario Arredondo (Clementina) of Benavides, TX, Luis Felipe Arredondo (Dahlia) of Bishop, TX, Juan Arredondo (Natalia) of Falfurrias, TX, Heriberto Arredondo (Belinda) of La Copita, TX, Daniel Arredondo (Mary) of Bishop, TX, Rafael Arredondo Jr. of Kingsville, TX and Elias Arredondo (Mary Ann) of Premont, TX, one sister Noemi Regalado (The Late Ramiro) of Falfurrias, TX, five grandchildren Gavin X Luera, Kaylynn Luera, Ricardo Dustin Arredondo, Ashtyn Faith Arredondo and Jayce Tyler Sanchez.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Claudio Arredondo.

A Holy Rosary will be held on Thursday August 21, 2025 at 7:00 PM at The Alaniz Funeral Home in Falfurrias Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday August 22, 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias. Burial will follow at the Arredondo Ranch in La Copita Texas.

Serving as Pallbearers are Gavin Luera, Ricardo Dustin Arredondo, Xavier Luera, Esiquel Arredondo, Joel Arredondo and Jayce Sanchez.
