PITTSFIELD, Mass. Mr. Richard L. Brazeau, 65, of Jason St., died Wednesday evening, December 21, 2005 at home. Born in Pittsfield on May 31, 1940, he was the son of Lionel and Muriel Boudreau Brazeau. He was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield, a 1958 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1960 graduate of Bentley College. Mr. Brazeau was currently vice president and chief financial officer for Standard Manufacturing Co./Sportsmaster of Troy, N.Y. He was the former owner of the Lenox Package Store. He was formerly employed by Burton Enterprises of Cobleskill, N.Y., Holland Company and Berkshire Frosted Foods. For many years, he enjoyed coaching boys' basketball at the Pittsfield Boys and Girls Club and the Catholic Youth Center. He played on and sponsored the Lenox Package Store Men's Softball Team and also sponsored the women's softball team. He was an avid fan of the St. Joseph High School Boys' Basketball team. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He leaves his wife of 41 years, the former Eleanor Collins; four sons, Roy A. Gosselin of Suffield, Conn., John B. Gosselin of Pittsfield, Richard C. Brazeau of San Carlos, Calif. and Daniel J. Brazeau of Boston; a daughter, Ann Marie Sadlowski of Pittsfield; a brother, Mark Brazeau of Dalton; loving father-in-law of Donna, Juliana and Alexandra; six grandchildren; niece and nephew; sister-in-law, Linda. He was predeceased by a brother, Russell Brazeau. Funeral services will be tomorrow, Saturday, December 24 at 9:00 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery on Tuesday, December 27. Calling hours will be today, Friday from 3 to 6 at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Central High School to enhance mathematics and technology programming in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in his memory.
