A much loved and enjoyed painting of his. My family named it "The Hobbit". And here´s Rich entertaining at one of my many small parties in Dana Point where he was my very first tenant in my duplex in Dana Point. He was a great tenant and took excellent care of it. Quickly became a best friend.

At my wedding party in my Dana Point duplex on Violet Lantern. He´s the one in the white sweater. He was an unforgettable friend; an old soul. He often played his guitar at small parties here. And I have 2 of his beautiful paintings my whole family enjoys. We named one The Hobbit. Another is a whale painting. Rest in peace my old friend

My wife and I met Richard on the Southwest Chief Amtrak line from Chicago to LA in the summer of 2014. He was in the sleeper across from us and fortunately our friendship continued until his passing. It was an honor and a pleasure to get to know him and he will be greatly missed.

I had the pleasure of helping to care for Richard in his final months. When I had some free time, we would talk and share stories and discuss our mutual love for art. He was an extremely talented, sweet, funny man. He shared his portfolio with me and other members of the healthcare team and I was blown away by his amazing artistic talent. He had a copy made of his self portrait and signed it for me; I will always treasure that picture and the conversations we had. He will forever be missed. To his family and friends: I am so sorry for your loss.
