Richard Couillard Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 15 to Jul. 19, 2023.
Bluffton - Richard A. Couillard, 65, of Bluffton, SC, passed away on July 11, 2023. Richard was born in Burlington, VT on August 23, 1957. He was the son of Clement E. Couillard and Arlene J. Bovat Couillard. He is survived by his wife Maria, daughter Kaitlin, son Jesse, granddaughter Emmeline, and his four siblings: Terrence J. Couillard, Robert C. Couillard, Deborah A. Sheehan, and Stephen M. Couillard.

Richard graduated from South Burlington High School in 1975. He went on to work for his father's construction business-Couillard Construction. In 2002, Richard joined Burlington Electric where he started as a lineman and later worked as a cable locator until his retirement in 2016.

When not working, Richard enjoyed keeping busy, always looking for something to do from fixing vehicles and landscaping to home projects, helping his father, and spending time with family.

Richard will be remembered as a quiet, kindhearted, loyal, and dependable man. He was an exceptionally hard worker, quick to help others, and slow to complain. He will be greatly missed.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral or visiting hours. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
