Richard Angelo Galletta

Rich passed away December 22, 2011. Rich was born in San Francisco March 13, 1931, the son of Louis Galletta and Virginia Donato. He was raised in San Francisco, and opened a State Farm Insurance office in San Jose. He retired from there after 28 successful years. Rich was known as a charismatic soul who loved his fellow man. He was an active golfer, enjoyed working out at the gym, and an avid 49'er fan. His great love was participating in the community drama group. Even as he became ill earlier in 2011, he found the energy to join the group for one last production. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Galletta. He is survived by his wife Lynne, daughter Laura Galletta Reed, son Daniel Galletta and wife Kathy, grandchildren Richard Terranova, Natalie Terranova-Kanyi, Jessica Reed, Olivia Galletta, JoVanni Galletta and Nicholas Galletta, and great-grandson Tason. He is also survived by sisters Donna Santoro and Pat Rhodes, and brother, Reverend Michael Galletta and wife Yvonne. The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., January 29, 2012 at Trilogy in Rio Vista, CA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.

It will be twelve years since my Father's passing & I have read these condolences so many times since his transition. Reading these bring tears of happiness & gratitude because of the love for him by you & so many others, as well as all that he brought to the lives of very many! I never thought to leave a note of thankfulness to all of you & the countless who attended his memorial to honor him, his life...for that I apologize! Not knowing if any of you will ever read this, as I think of Daddy every day, I feel he would want me, even now, to tell you all how much your memories & words are more than appreciated! I am forever grateful knowing how many will remember him! Thank you all & God bless you & yoursWith love, Laura Galletta

Dearest Lynne, we are shocked to hear of Dick's passing. He was such a kind soul with not an unkind word to say about anyone. You were the first people we met when we moved to Rio Vista. Knowing you were across the golf course actually gave me a secure feeling with Bill working nights. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Please know we are always here for you. Always. Anytime; day or night.

Hi Lynne and Family,

My brother Tim and I would have loved to have stayed and spoken with you and the kids yesterday at that beautiful memorial for Dick, but we had to get back on the road. The Pollard family has nothing but great memories of Dick, and as you know, he was my father's best friend. Now, and for eternity, may they enjoy all the 49er games and play golf together.

Lynne,
Dad and I spoke of you 2 often always smiling when he thought of Rich. I remember how he would stop by during the christmas holiday to bring special greetings. Dad pasted on the 15th so I am sure they are having a great visit. Our condolences to you and your entire family, he will be missed. Jayne Morello-Rose

I worked with Dick for many years as his underwriter for State Farm. He was always a gentleman and respected for his work ethic. I am sorry for your loss and know he will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful person.

Dick was a wonderful friend for over 30 years. Our businesses were in the same location which is how we met. My wife and I will miss our dear friend. We'll always have fond memories of Dick's laugh, smile, and generosity.
