Loving father to Cynthia (Steven) Todd, Susan (Gerald D.) Worley, Gary Kanka, Larry (Cheryl) Kanka and Dennis (Amie) Kanka. Proud grandfather to Michael Todd, Karen Todd, Renee Todd, Catherine Kanka, Shelby Kanka and Grace Kanka.
Richard was a life member of Fr. Kramer Knights of Columbus Council #2835.
Visitation Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 10am to 12pm at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield, Clinton Township, Michigan.
Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan

I would like to give my deepest sympathy to the entire Kanka family. I really liked your father. He had a certain twinkle in his eyes, and a smile that could light up a room. Anytime I ran into him he would have a nice thing to say and had a smile on his face. He gave the best hugs!He was a kind, loving, funny, man with a little touch of flirt. I hope you all find comfort knowing your parents are reunited and watching over you. They will live on through all of your hearts. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry again for your loss.

To the entire Kanka family it is with a heavy heart I express my deepest sympathy on your loss.Over the past couple months its been a pleasure getting to know Richard. He was a joy to the entire building, all our residents,staff and even my wife and I. His generous heart and appreciation for everyone will be missed greatly.
