Richard Luccio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11, 2012.
LUCCIO Attorney Richard A. of Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Dedham, died the morning of October 7, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Catherine A. (Casey) for forty-nine years. Richie was the loving father to his two daughters, Darlene Luccio Jordan and her husband Gerald of Boston and Palm Beach, Florida and Andrea Desiree Luccio and her husband Reed Frerichs of Palm Beach, Florida. His greatest joys were his two granddaughters Charlotte Jordan and Catherine Frerichs and they truly adored him. Born October 10, 1934 in Boston, Richie was preceded in death by his mother Emma (Delvechio) and brother Ronald. Brother James and father Sarno reside in West Harwich. A former teacher who pursued his passion for the law, Richie attended law school in the evenings while raising his family. He was able to accomplish many career goals but he was proudest of being the first Italian American appointed to the Massachusetts State Parole Board. Richie also enjoyed being a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts where he made lifelong friends and was honored to serve as Captain Commanding of the organization. Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High Street, DEDHAM, Friday at 8:00 A.M. Funeral mass in Saint Susanna’s Church, Dedham at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. Interment Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in Richie’s memory to The Jordan Boys and Girls Club, 50 Congress Street, Suite 730 Boston, MA 02109. I worked for him at his laundromat in Boston. He was a nice guy. He brought me Thanksgiving dinner my last year in Boston. His wife cooked it for us. See you on the other side Richie.
