Mr. Richard F. Malm

DANVERS- Mr. Richard F. Malm, Sr., 94, of Danvers, beloved husband of the late June (Foss) Malm, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage, passed away peacefully, at his home on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Frank and Pauline (Preston) Malm. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School. An honorably discharged veteran, Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corps, during World War II. Mr. Malm had been employed by the General Electric Company in Lynn, completing their apprentice program, advancing to mechanical engineer in their Marine Turbine Division, where he remained, until the time of his retirement after 46 years of dedicated service. Family was most important to Richard; he loved recording their lives through his photography, especially filming them during the holidays. He was an avid walker, enjoyed carpentry and riding motorcycles. A fun loving and caring father, grandfather and great- grandfather, he will be deeply missed by his family. Richard is survived by his sons, Richard Malm and his wife Kathleen of Danvers and Steven Malm and his wife Nancy of Hampton, N.H., his five grandchildren, Samantha Malm and her partner Ryan Dame of Freemont, N.H., Timothy Malm of Hampton, N.H., Kristopher Malm and his wife Keri of Burlington, Kyle Malm and his wife Tori of Ipswich and Rachael Malm and her fiancée Kevin Holter of Kingston, N.H., his three great-grandchildren, Emelia Malm, Dylan Malm and Colin Holter. He was the brother of the late Rita Gilroy. ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Saturday, Oct. 31st at 1 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Visiting hours prior to the service from 12 to 1 P.M.
