Richard MULDER Obituary
January 22, 1953 – February 12, 2017
It is with deepest sorrow that our family announces the death of our Rick, beloved husband, father, devoted son, brother, uncle and true friend, who was called and passed into the Light while in the loving arms of his wife, Tam and children, Joanna and Johnny at 7:15 p.m. February 12 in Vancouver General Hospital Palliative Care Unit at the age of 64. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Ann (2001) Mulder; brothers John (1967) and Dave (2008); and mother-in-law, Jan (2002) Milani. He is survived by his wife, Tamara; children, Joanna and John; siblings, Margaret (Jonathan) Topham, Bob (Kathy) Mulder, Mike (Jackie) Mulder, Ken (Gloria) Mulder, Jacquie (Al) Kirk, and Stephanie (Pete) Van Jole; grandmother-in-law, Mary B. Riddle; father-in-law, Paul McKay, step-father-in- law, Tony Milani; sisters-in-law, Tori McKay and Carolyn Hamlin; and many, many cherished nieces, nephews and friends. Lastly, we would like to acknowledge the dedication of Dr. Maryse Power, Lead Physician and the entire transplant team. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 7455 Tenth Avenue, Burnaby followed by a reception at Kearney's Columbia Bowell Chapel, 219 Sixth Street, New Westminster. In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted to www.mpnresearchfoundation.org/ Primary-Myelofibrosis

I was watching the CKNW 75th show today on the news. I was reminded of Sgt Rick, who was also a part of the famous tema and brought us the traffic from the air. I also Rick in his many diverse roles working with me and many others in the old VPD. Rick and I worked in many places in our thirty plus years with the last in the Vice Unit before his retirement. A great partner, brother and radio announcer. Never forgotten.

An old dear friend. Did not spend time in more recent years but Rick and his entire family of origin was a huge part of my teen and young adult years for many years. Many memories left to cherish. Condolences to the Mulder clan. My husband Armand was Rick's partner on the job for a few years and they shared a great friendship both on and off the job. RIP dear Rick. You will be missed by many.

A man that my father looked up to and raised us to see as such an admirable man and a hero. I did not have the pleasure of having you in my entire life but from the moments I met you, I knew you were such a kind, gentle and loving soul. Our hearts are broken for all of you. What a fantastic dad and husband you had. I'll never forget his laughter from the patio. His excitement at giving all the neat toys and stuffies to our kids. What a wonderful, thoughtful and kind man. Best neighbor ever. Some of our fondest memories in life, looking up to the patio and chatting and just hearing the laughter. We love you guys to bits. So sorry hear of your enormous loss! My fondest memory of Rick was him bringing his patrol car to the preschool, getting out with his enormous friendly smile, and all the little faces looking up at him in total awe and that was before he turned on the lights and siren! My sincere condolences. I worked with Rick years ago flying in a helicopter together and those were the best years I have ever had working. He was such a kind, generous and funny man. We never stopped laughing. Such a loss to this world. My heart goes out to all his family and friends.
