I knew Richard as a High School friend, at Henry Wise Wood. I remember his great sense of humour and the marathon "risk" games we would play. My thoughts and condolences to his family.

I worked with Richard when he was at Mintec's Vancouver office. I only found out today and I'm saddened by this news. He seemed to be a pretty cheery fellow and we got along great. Myself and others here will miss you.

I met Richard through the acQuire office and also met him at some Canadian Liver Foundation functions. He talked to me about his liver disease and asked me what it was like to have a liver transplant. I said that the recovery rate was excellent - but there was a shortage of donated organs. I'm sorry that you didn't receive one in time. You will be missed my friend.

I met Richard when he joined the Coal Division at Esso Resources back in the 1980s. Richard was a great fellow to work with.
I was great to watch Richard move into the mining industry and do well.
We will miss you Richard.

Richard leaves behind a great number of mining professionals who at one time or another depended on his extensive knowledge in software applications. I met Richard when he joined Fording Coal bach in the late 1980's. Since the mining clan is a small community, we kept in touch personally and professionally for the next two decades. I especially enjoyed his humour and insight. There was a touching salute this week down in Tucson at the Mintec seminar. Richard you will be missed my friend.
