Funeral Services for Mr. Richard Ladson, also known as "Sue", will be held on 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Nazareth African Methodist Episcopal Church, Choppee. A Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Wilds Courtyard Chapel.
Mr. Ladson died on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, New York.

Celebrating The Life Of Richard Ladson
Mr. Richard “Sue” Ladson, the son of the late Reverend Mose Ladson, Sr. and Mrs. Viola Ford Ladson, was born on May 25, 1946, in Georgetown, South Carolina.
He departed this life on January 13, 2023 at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, New York.
Richard graduated from Choppee High School in 1964. He worked in Brooklyn, New York at Hallmark Electric for many years.
Richard joined Nazareth A.M.E. Church at an early age.
Richard was a happy soul. He had a passion for New York and walking. Many times when he was missing around here he was in New York. He had a sense of humor. He loved dancing and writing poetry. He loved to dress back in the day. His favorite saying was “You don’t think you could…?”
Richard leaves to cherish his lasting memories, his daughter, Renee Ladson Knox (Emanuel), of Bronx, New York; his sons, Steven Haynes and Michael Haynes both of Suffolk County, New York; two brothers, Mose Ladson, Jr. (Frances), of Laurinburg, North Carolina, and William E. Ladson (Wanella) of Georgetown, South Carolina; two sisters, Eliza Neville and Mary Thomas, both of Georgetown, South Carolina; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
