RITA BENSON Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 17, 2013.
Benson, Rita Jane, of Laguna Niguel, went into the loving arms of our great God on February 6th, 2013. Her "Celebreation of Life" service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Mission Lutheran Church, 24360 Yosemite Rd., Laguna Niguel, 92677. Rita was born on December 24, 1929, at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, CA

Rita had two brothers, Michael and Bud, and two sisters, Rosemary and Barbara. She attended Jane Addams Elementary School, Lindbergh Jr. High School and then graduated from Jordan High School in 1948. She married Brad Benson in 1956. They settled in Long Beach, then moved to Laguna Niguel in 1972, where they opened a bike shop on Crown Valley Parkway. They expanded and renamed the business, Mission Cyclery, and moved to a new location in Mission Viejo becoming a Schwinn dealership. They operated the shop until they retired. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, incredible sister, aunt and friend to all.

Rita and Brad were favorites of mine as we worked as small business owners and supporters of the YMCA....there legacy will endure in the Laguna Niguel community for many years to come.

Time will pass and the pain will lessen, but memories of your loved one will be forever. Please accept my deepest sympathy.
