Admiral Robert A. Rosen - Family Man, Patriot and Real Estate Investor

Robert A. Rosen, a Two-Star Rear Admiral (Upper Half), Philanthropist and Real Estate Investor passed away on July 27, 2022 in Rhinebeck, NY at 86 years of age. He is survived by the love of his life and partner in business Florence Cohen Rosen, along with his sons David (Allison), Ken (Lisa), Mark (Debbie) and daughter Emily Ades (Derrick). Proud Poppa of thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Arthur and sister-in-law Linda.

The Admiral, as he was best known, was born in Queens, raised in Brooklyn, attended Midwood High School and obtained a BBA and an MBA from CCNY / Baruch College.

Chairman of the Board and CEO of Jericho, New York based Rosen Associates Management Corp., a leading owner, manager, investor and developer of shopping centers and commercial properties throughout the United States. Through the United Nations, he was a consultant to Israel, Iran & Brazil. He was an active member in the CEO organization.

Member of the Board of Overseers and Trustee of Northwell Health. Founder and Co-Chairman of the Florence and Robert A. Rosen Family Wellness Center for Law Enforcement and Military Personnel, Veterans and their families, which has provided services for over 15,000 service and family members.

Proudly served in the US Navy and New York Naval Militia for 49 years and was appointed as Commanding Officer of the NY Naval Militia by Governor Pataki and put in charge of more than 5,000 Naval, Marine and Coast Guard Reservists. Holder of numerous medals, board positions, degrees, and awards for a wide range of public service and charitable organizations. He did tours of duty in Lebanon & Egypt.

Former President and Co-Founder of the Fisher House Foundation and builder and developer of 17 Fisher Family Comfort Houses throughout the United States adjacent to all major military medical facilities. He served on the Board of Directors for the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and was instrumental in bringing the USS Intrepid to NYC. Former Member of the Board of Special Advisors to the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation.

He was a Proud American whose life touched and affected myriads, he was loved and will be missed.
