Robert Bartnick Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 12, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Bartnick, 79, who left this world on August 4, 2025, in Jupiter, Florida.

Born on April 18, 1946, to Lawrence and Kathleen Bartnick, Bob lived a life as vibrant, adventurous, and unapologetically unique as he was.

Bob devoted much of his life to his work with Braniff and American Airlines, a career that didn't just pay the bills but opened the doors to the world. His job allowed him to travel across continents, to live in cities from coast to coast, and to collect not only passport stamps, but friendships and experiences that became the stories he loved to tell.

A proud and loyal fan of the Boston Celtics and the Boston Red Sox, Bob could often be found cheering passionately-sometimes loudly-whether his teams were on top or at the bottom of the standings. Sports, like life, were to be felt fully, and he did just that.

He was known for his infectious laugh-the kind that could fill a room and make even strangers smile-and his sharp, warm, and often witty sense of humor. Bob never tried to fit into anyone else's mold. He walked to the beat of his own drum, lived life on his own terms, and in doing so, inspired those around him to be a little braver in being themselves.

He is survived by his siblings Kathy Trost, Lorrie Borisewich, and Thomas Bartnick, his brother-in-laws William Trost and Nicholas Borisewich, his sister in-law Kathy (Bye) Bartnick, and many nieces and nephews who adored him. He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Kathleen Bartnick. His family and friends will carry his memory in their hearts, holding tight to the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.

Bob's life was a tapestry woven with travel, joy, and authenticity. Though the world feels quieter without his voice and lighter without his laugh, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched.

The family asks that you honor Bob's memory by living boldly, laughing often, and loving your people well-just as he did.

I first met Bob in 1975 while we both were living in Dallas at the same apartment complex and we worked at Braniff International. He was such an inviting and welcoming soul when you came in to his presence. His laugh. His smile. His humor. Never didn´t enjoy being with or around Bob. Thank you for all the great moments Bob. You definitely left awesome footprints in this world. RIP my friend.

Bobby was my older brother. I have lots of memories of him. He was fun and always provided a lot of laughs. I was able to spend more time with him the last 10+ years and am really happy about that. It definitely made both of our lives better. He loved football and I´ll miss calling him during games. The picture is he and I watching the Giants in the Super Bowl. Rest in peace brother! Tom

I had the pleasure of meeting Bob a couple of times, and he made a lasting impression on me. Kindness, jokes, he made me feel like we had known each a long time.

My sister and I were in Fort Lauderdale at one of our favorite hotels, and Bob came and met us at the bar and then for dinner.

Though I only knew Bob for a short time, he had an incredible way of connecting with people. His genuine nature and bright spirit were truly special. It's clear he made the world a better place.

We will all miss him very much.
