BECKER, Robert Norman "Bob"

Of New Dundee

Passed away suddenly, as the result of an accident, on Thursday, June 30, 2011, at the age of 63.

Beloved husband and soul mate of Brenda (nee Fischer) for 41 years, loving father of Timothy and his wife Meagan of Baden and Jennifer of New Dundee, cherished son of Edna Becker (nee Hagey), dear brother of Ronald of Oxdrift, Leonard (Suzanne) of Dryden, and brother-in-law of Wendy Rose Jackson of Kanata. He will be dearly missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law; Murray (Nancy) Fischer and Eleanore (Terry) Knarr, all of Kitchener, Carol (the late Gottlieb) Pedde of Oroville, WA, Bruce (Betty) Fischer of Kitchener, Gail (Michael Holthysen) Fischer of Vancouver, BC, Donna (Carder) Gropp of Kingston, and Deborah Fischer of White Rock, BC. Bob will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and all who knew him.

Predeceased by his father, Clarence Becker (1994), and his brother, Cameron Becker (2001).

Bob retired October 2009 from 44 years in the Bricklaying trade (majority of time with G&A Masonry). Since then it has given him great joy to devote more of his love and time to his family, hunting trips, gardening, and puttering around the farm, along with his winter vacations in Florida.

The family will receive friends at the Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Rd.), Kitchener, on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. Funeral Service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at the Roseville United Brethren Church, 2729 Fischer-Hallman Road, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Randy Magnus officiating. Interment to follow at Roseville Cemetery.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Roseville United Brethren Church or the Arthritis Society would be greatly appreciated by the family and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 743-8900.

Bob and I were moose hunting buddies but we regularly kept in touch. I had a great deal of respect for this man, a good husband, father, brother, son and friend. Bob, you'll always be with me. Sereno

Bob was my best man at my wedding 40 years ago and I at his. We had many great times playing cards all hours of the night - dropping the girls off and heading back to my place to play until the wee hours of the morning. He would let me drive his great car when we were young and single. We disconnected for a few years when the kids were growing up but had a chance to reconnect in the past couple of years. I will really, really miss him. Until we meet again my friend. Grant Frederiksen

I worked with Bob back in the Becker Silo days. He was a good hard working man and we enjoyed some great times back in the "silo days" RIP Bob.
