Dallas, Texas – Robert Preston “Bobby” Jones, 77, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Newberry Cemetery located at 1301 Newberry Road, Millsap, TX 76066, in Parker County.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the Dallas SPCA.
Bobby was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Marshall and Wanda Jones. He was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School and he went on to attend Texas Christian University and the University of North Texas. Bobby made a career in the beauty wholesale business, serving 59 years. His sales experience included working for Hoffman-LaRoche, Pantene, Pantresse, ApHogee and Folicure. Bobby was an owner in the Hollywood Beauty Supply retail chain located throughout the DFW metroplex during the 1980’s. With a business partner, they founded the group, Rogers and Jones, which served the southwest and was later taken over by the Kirschner Group, Inc. in 1999, where he continued to work for the remainder of his career.
Bobby “loved to live life.” He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and you could often find him out on the golf course for a quick 18-holes. From an early age, he expressed an interest in flying, so he went on to receive his multi-engine license and he took up the hobby of aerobatic flying. Bobby loved to take friends and family in his aerobatic plane for a few rolls without their knowledge, while he was laughing the entire time. Bobby had a love for animals, and his current pets were two feral cats, a squirrel, and a racoon that he would care for in his backyard. Bobby was more concerned for these animal’s safety than for himself. He couldn’t wait to get home from his business trips to check on his backyard friends. Bobby took after his grandfather, Ben Doss, in appearance, and being a great storyteller. After he finished the story, one never knew if the story was true, or if he had just made it up to keep your attention.
Bobby is preceded in death by his son, Robert Todd Jones; longtime companion, Deanna “DeeDee” Gatenby; parents, Marshall Jones, Jr., and Wanda Marie Jones; and three beloved dogs, Sandy, Baxter, and Jody.
Bobby is survived by brother, Mark Jones and wife, Lynn, of Southlake, TX; sister, Carole Jones Shaw of Benbrook, TX; niece, Lauren Shaw Blalock and husband, Carson, of Keene, TX; and an abundance of close friends and cousins.

Bobby was one of my most favorite people! I had no idea of his passing and have been trying desperately to reach him, as I´ve always valued his feedback on anything related to the beauty industry. Bobby, you will always have a special place in my heart, you´re one of the kindest, most hard working, hilarious and generous people I´ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Shauntel Johnson

Bobby Jones was the BEST. Life was better around Bob. He helped me so much in the beauty business. I could never repay him for his help and kindness. He also taught me how to shoot craps. I will miss him. You couldn´t help but love him.

Bob was my coworker, my boss, my sales representative, my best man and most of all, my friend. He was positive, kind, generous and gave a gift of smiles & laughter to almost everyone he met. I'll miss him but am pretty sure he's still having fun. Condolences to family and friends.
