Robert Brewton, Sr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 5, 2013.
Robert Lee Brewton, Sr., left us November 5, 2013, with family by his side. Robert Lee was born August 15, 1934 in Winn Parish to Josire "Joe" and Jannie Liles Brewton in the house his father built, with his three sisters, Irene, Betty Jo, Nellie and brother Clyde. He acquired a passion for gardening as he tended the large vegetable gardens which helped feed the family. He loved fishing with his raccoon, Spot, on the family land. After high school, he moved to Baton Rouge to attend the Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD). There he excelled in basketball and football. He also developed many ways to express his artistic ability, using different mediums to create beautiful ceramics, drawings and sketches. He trained to work as a dental lab technician and worked with Davidson/Cherry Dental Lab for almost 30 years. He was very passionate about LSU Football. He enjoyed many game days and road trips with his father to support the Tigers. He insisted on having a copy of the Advocate everyday just to read the sports section to keep up with all sports, especially LSU. He met his wife, Camille June Trepagnier Brewton, a fellow student at LSD, at a football game on October 21, 1961, and quickly fell in love. They have been married 51 years, have three children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Survived by his wife, Camille June Trepagnier, and "Angel" his beloved pet; his children, Donna Sue Hoover; Gloria June Richardson and her husband, Stacy; Robert Lee Brewton, Jr., and his wife, Ladda; grandchildren Genny Lee Bellezza and her husband James; Mary Katelyn "Katie" Hoover and her fiancé, Brad Duhon; Joseph "Joey" Robert Graves; Arthur Millard "Tiger" Hoover, IV, and his fiancé, Liz Ecker; Zachary "Chase" Hoover and his wife, Britnee; Kelly Michelle Graves and Gavin Tyler Brewton.
