Lake Charles - It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Jerry Colletta
announces his passing on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 in a local hospital.
The family will receive visitors on Friday, June 22, 2012 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m.
Jerry was a native of Lake Charles and a graduate of LaGrange High School. He is most fondly remembered enjoying a game of golf and watching sports with his sons and his treasured dog Max at his side.
Survivors include his two sons, Robert "Kent" Colletta and wife Annette, Anthony "Tony" Colletta and wife Rhonda, four grandchildren, Dustin Colletta, Chase Colletta, Mallory Colletta and Tyson Colletta all of Lake Charles, one brother, Ronald "Ronnie" Colletta of Pasadena, TX., three sisters, Charlotte Pesano of Garland, TX., Colleen Colletta of Sulphur and Cindy Colletta of Sulphur along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry also leaves to honor his memory his beloved partner of fifteen years Carolyn McDaniel of Lake Charles and family. He was preceded in death by his parents Frankie and LaVerne Colletta.
The Colletta family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Fastabend and staff.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made in Jerry's name to ICCS building on tradition fund.

Stumbled across his obituary while looking for another. So sorry to hear of his passing. I lived across the street from him on Clover Drive as a child. I remember being sad when he moved away.... My father is Jerry Mancil...

Cindy and Family,
Just wanted to express my deepest sympathy and prayers again to you and your family. It was great to see you and your beautiful daughter again and meet your family. It was an honor for me to be able to share in your brother's memorial service while working at Hixson Funeral Home and know that I am here if your family needs anything.

To the Colletta family,
Jerry & I grew up around the corner from each other and played a lot together as kids and into High School. Our teachers always called us "Colletta" and "Streater"... never our 1st names...We were both "Geralds"-Jerry & Gerry. I can remembner many fun times playing a myriad of games between our two backyards. He was a terrific friend and I regret we lost touch with each other over the years. When I knew him he had a terrific sense of humor and we laughed a lot. He was a loyal & good friend. My deepest condolences go out to each of you I know you will miss him.
