Robert Corbin Burnham, 103, of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of the late Marilyn Jean MacDougall Burnham entered into eternal rest Tuesday, November 21, 2023. A memorial service will be held December. 28, 2023, at Somerby of Mount Pleasant, 3100 Tradition Circle., Mount Pleasant, SC 29466 at 1:00 p.m.. Arrangements by J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel.

Robert was born June 29, 1920 in Independence, Missouri, son of the late Samuel Harrison Burnham and the late Minnie Ann Corban Burnham. During WWII he was an airplane armorer in the Army Air Corps maintaining aircraft armament. He graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduation, he worked at Link-Belt Cranes in Kansas City, MO and then for Johnson Door Co. also in Kansas City, MO. He later became the Regional Sales Manager at Overhead Door in Lewiston, PA. Robert moved to South Carolina in 2011 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Isle of Palms.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Jean MacDougall Burnham.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Burnham Bates (John) of Chardon, OH; two sons, Robert D. Burnham (Marion) of Idaho Springs, CO; William D. Burnham (Linda) of Mt Pleasant, SC, three grandchildren, Robert Hilscher, Bethany Johnston and Robin Burnham; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
