As Dab was my fathers best friend, I have know him most of my life that I can remember. Dab was a loving and care person and although I hadn't seen him after I moved from richmond I would always inquire my dad of his well doings. I have a few funny stories about Dab but one that has stuck with me is. When I was around 14 my friends and I would always go skating on saturday nights. So one week before we went we were at my Dads house (Andre' Mickle) and Dab was there. He was telling us how he liked to skate and being teenagers we began to brag about how we would skate circles around him. So as he entertained us he drove us to the skating rink on Williamsburg Road and proceeded to skate as well as any professional skater that Ive ever seen. All of my friend and I was looking stupid as Rob had shown all of us that we had a few things to learn about skating. My father always thought alot about Rob and I did also....May he look down on his family proud that his legacy has been remembered.

Dabney was a kind and gentle soul and always had a positive outlook. I have never seen him disgruntled. He loved God, his wife, music, and he loved to dance(and he could really dance!). He will be missed. Love to you Pat and Dawn. I am here if you need me.

To Sister Patricia and the Family:
Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Brother Robert Dabney. During my time at St. Peter, Bro Dabney was an inspiration to me in the Men's Fellowship. To my recollection, he, though still battling his illness, would bless us with his presence. He was a great spirited person who enjoyed his time with the men and loved, very much, his family. I pray God's blessed peace upon each of you as you remember the life of love he lived.

It's amazing how time fly. Growing up together was a great experience. I couldn't have ask for a better family to live right next door to. I feel you all are part of my family. Now is the time to remember the past and how much fun in the neighbor"Hood" we had with Robert. (I can't stop smiling)
Robert rest in peace. To the other family members, know that you are in my prayers.

Robert Dabney was a man of knowledge, strength and had a heart of gratitude and generosity. A true love for life! He was an ordinary man who did extraordinary things. He was a man who loved his family and loved some music. I know his charge to us would be to keep his light glowing as he whispers to us-My brothers and sisters, "May the life I lived and the works I've done speak for me." He is now an angel in heaven and faithful servant of God guarding us with his wings.
My prayers and words of comfort are with Mrs. Dabney and family at the time.
With deepest sympathy,
Gloria Womack
