I got to know Mr. Featherstone serving at ground zero after 9/11. A fellow NYer, it was great to hear him tell stories about when he was a boy. It was a week I´ll never forget.

My name is Tom Schlosser. I was Bob's first hire as a computer engineer at Central Engineering in St. Anthony, MN, USA in the year 1979. "I guess this is the help wanted ad you saw in the St. Paul paper." My god, what a man. A thinker. An academic scholar. A humanist. A good guy. Nothing human was alien to him. A masterful engineer of all stripes: Mechanical, Electrical, Architechual, Computers--in the very years of the ascendency of the proliferation computers and their infiltration of all aspects of our lives. As I mentioned or implied, just above, Bob was (I want to say "is") a man for all seasons. I have been to his house. his home. I have met his wife, his children. Bob, the world is a sadder place without you. I hope all of you are doing well and prospering; Bob wanted this, for everyone and he, not just a man of kindness and goodness and generosity, ...dear Bob, words are failing me.

Oh, Barb, I see your name, below, in this Obit. Blessings be upon you, yours, and everyone else. -- Oficiusly, I say this, in no small part, from the master, Bob himself. Mr Fanshaw (*insider joke), ... my condolences towards all, We miss you, Bob.

*--left an exercise to the reader; [Bob is now tickling himself]
