Robert D. Fricke, MD, FACP, ACG, 76, of Belleville died Sunday, May 20, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Kurrus Funeral Home, Belleville.

I just found out about Bob's passing. We were medical school classmates and hunting and fishing buddies. We both felt a duty to patients that superceded all others. Lack of insurance was never a reason to refuse care.I often called Bob for advice about my medical patients' problems and he sought my advice about urologic problems.I will miss him greatly.

Dr. Fricke was never in a hurry. He always took time with his patients. You would come in oncall during the night. It was 2 am and he was talking with his patient's families and then he would start talking with the staff about his horses. He was very proud of his horses! But all we wanted to do was go back home to bed before somebody else thought of a case to do. Dr. Fricke was a special guy!!!!

Dr. Fricke was like no other. He had so much compassion for those he cared for. He didn't care if you had insurance or not. He still believed in the oath he took in caring for all. NO other physicians would do that.
May you rest in peace.
