ROBERT L. "BOB" GAUTHIER

GAUTHIER, Robert L. "Bob" Age 96, proud veteran of the Navy, passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, in Sarasota, FL. Born December 5, 1925, in Sanford, ME, the son of Louis and Rebecca (Lemieux). A brother Leopold and sister Viola Czyzewski predeceased Bob. Bob served in the navy on the USS Pasadena during WWII. Upon returning home, he received his degree in business and spent his career working as an account manager for food brokerage companies in the Boston area. In 1952, he wed Eileen (McDonald) of Somerville and they remained happily married until her passing in 2011. They settled in Burlington, MA, where they raised four children: Susan Leavis of Sarasota, FL, Robert Gauthier of Mashpee, MA, Stacey Fialkosky of Billerica, MA, and Lauren Gauthier of Salem, MA. Bob was an avid boatman and the family enjoyed many weekends on the water. Bob and Eileen made their second home in Mashpee, MA. He was a talented cook and storyteller. Bob, or "Grampi" to his grandchildren, entertained the family with his often unbelievable tales. In later years, Bob and Eileen moved to the Fort Myers area of Florida. They maintained an active lifestyle. Bob played tennis and exercised in the pool almost daily and the pair made a formidable bridge team. They were blessed with many wonderful friendships spanning North and South, plus several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In his final years, Bob moved to the Sarasota area to be near his daughter. Bob was the "Captain" of his family and will always be remembered for his generous heart and kind soul.
