Bob was the definition of a good man and such a wonderful model for Evan when he coached him in football. I am grateful for his impact and example on the young boys who played under his watch. So sorry for your great loss Becky. We all miss him too.

Dear Becky,
So very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband. He was a great man! He taught me a lot about taking care of the football equipment during my high school days. I don't know if you or him ever knew it, but I ended getting paid as a football equipment manager in college. Bob was always very positive. He will be truly missed by all. May God comfort you in your time of mourning.
Dear Joe,
I am really sorry to hear about the loss of your Dad. Loosing a dad sucks in a million different ways because a dad is always the go-to guy and once that presence is gone you feel lost. Believe me, some days will be hard; other days will be harder. Someone once told me, "all you need is time, but time is on your side." May God comfort you in your time of mourning.

Such a great loss of such a wonderful man. I often saw Bob around the city in his work truck and he always waved and had the infectious smile. All the time! Dear Becky and Family:
I was deeply saddened when I heard of Bob's passing. Then as I reflected on my opportunity to have been his friend, I felt a warming of my heart. He touched me like he had touched so many others. His kindness, his grace, his smile, and his love for family and faith should be a life lesson for anyone not on their 'path'.
Bob was the perfect example of living life to the fullest. To emulate Bob would mean to give up 'judging' others. We would have to learn to speak of loving our family, and others unconditionally. Always speaking our truth would be tempered with the Love of self and others.
I will miss Bob. He served with me during contract negotiations. His willingness to help in a difficult process was just another testament to his wanting to serve others in his labor union. I was truly honored to work with Bob, and to call him my friend.
I am blessed to have crossed his path, and to watch a man in Love with Life provide the lesson we all should practice. Live life to the fullest, and Love everyone and every thing along the way.
My sympathy to the family and all of Bob's friends. He will be missed.

Becky,
Bob has been my primary contact at the airport for the past 6-7 years and our companies have done a lot of business together since 2001. I live in Michigan but traveled to MSP 1-2 times per month to work with Premier on many projects. Each trip typically included a coffee break with Bob at his desk along with his crews and those breaks were something that I looked forward to on each trip. Bob spoke of you and your family so often that I feel like I already know you, yet we've never met. He talked about boating on the Mississippi with you as that was a common interest of ours and something he obviously enjoyed a great deal. Recently I was fortunate to spend a day with Bob at a Twins/Tigers game at the new Target Field and have very fond memories of that day. I was able to ride down to the game with him, share great conversation, see downtown for the first time and walk around admiring the new stadium on a beautiful sunny day in Minneapolis with Bob telling stories about his past. Due to some vacation plans and some cancelled travel to MSP this was to be the last time I was able to visit with Bob in person and leaves me with great regrets. Although myself and my co-workers are incredibly heartbroken by his passing, I feel a sense of peace or good fortune in having had such an enjoyable time with him on that beautiful day at the ball game. Bob was a very special person to all of us at Concourse/Boingo, and came to be one of my favorite people over the years. His, "Hello David" and hand shake always made you feel as though you were in the company of a close friend that you could count on no matter what the circumstance or need. Bob was just truly, a unique and special person who I have had the privilege of spending time with in my life. His loss is something that is still not real to me and the thought of his empty desk on future trips is difficult to comprehend. He was just a pillar of a man that I was proud to have known. He made such an impact on me as a person that I've spent the past several days introducing him to my family and friends through the sad & unfortunate news articles coming from Minnesota. It's difficult to consider a day at that airport without his smile. To me Bob was confident, capable, humble, strong, compassionate, trustworthy, dedicated, loyal, respectful and had a great deal of pride in family & community. His company will be missed by our team more than words can describe. Your family has been in my thoughts and prayers daily since receiving the sad news. I wish you and your family, peace, comfort and the strength to grieve and push forward. So many questions as to why him, why now, but something that was evident and certain is how much he loved his family!
Thank you for sharing Bob with us, he was one of the best.

My condolences the Germundson Family and Premier Electric. I had the privilege to work with Bob on many projects at the MSP Airport for the last 10 years. His support to United Airlines was always above and beyond the expected. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversations about everything that was not work related. Family, golf, his grandchildren, and the 'Fish Boils' in Door County. I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew him. Many years ago, when my Father passed away, someone sent this verse to me. It is very appropriate for all of you who knew and loved Bob at this time.
"No matter how old we are, losing a Loved One is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know. But his goodness, his caring, and his wisdom live on-like a legacy of love that will always be with you. And just as he comforted you, may the memory of his love surround you now and bring you peace."

Rainbow
As I read through some of the submissions many of Bob’s friends and loved ones had left, one submission written by Carol Christianson on September 8th stood out to me in particular, she wrote “continue to look for him in the rainbows.”
I was very fortunate to be with the family at the airport as we awaited word of Bob’s whereabouts. I arrived at 11pm Friday night, and remained with Becky and the rest of the family on into the early morning hours on Saturday. We were all tired, many thoughts were going through our heads, we did not sleep, eat or even do a lot of talking. We all wanted just one thing, to know Bob was okay.
By 7am Saturday morning, 15 hours had passed. We were all still eagerly awaiting word. The sun began to rise and it was a new day, but to us, we still just wanted to know Bob was going to be okay.
As we sat in the line of chairs at the airport, I was there, Becky sat next to me, her sisters next to her. As we sat, others paced, some searched for answers, but we were all very silent. Among the sadness, fear and anticipation, we all wanted some sort of sign.
In this silence, hanging my head low, I noticed eight beautiful brightly colored rainbows, two sets, both lining the airport floor. Four of these rainbows seemed to land at Becky’s feet. I nudge Becky and point this out to her. We began to discuss that each one of the rainbows were a loved one that passed on, there to guide us through, we said one was her mom, one her dad, my dad Jerry, Bob’s mom, his dad and brothers, but ironically there was one extra rainbow, an eighth rainbow that lead to Becky’s feet, we did not know which loved one that belonged to. Becky, that is your answer that Bob is okay, he is that eight rainbow.
Although not with us in the physical world, he is in the rainbows, the trees blowing, the waves crashing, all those little moments, we do not often stop to notice, but they are there.
Love you.
Jenny

Becky and family,
I am so saddened by the news of Bob's passing. Although we haven't crossed paths much over recent years, fond memories of good times we had together "back in the day" pop into my mind all the time. Of all of the guys in our gang back at graduation, Bob was the one I KNEW would go on to live a BIG life. He had both a level head and a HUGE heart. He will be sorely missed by the many, many people whose lives he has touched. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

Dear Becky, Kristen, Kelly, Joseph & Family, as your neighbors, we feel incredibly lucky to have had our lives intersect with Bob's, as well as yours. As the primary "front yard representative" of your household, Bob often greeted us coming and going, crossed the street to chat, served as one of my most trusted advisors in lawn care, helped with the occasional electrical malfunction, lent tools, and kept us up-to-date on what was going on in your family (the happy graduations, weddings and births, etc.). We adored and admired him. The kids delighted to spot him in the pews at church (Mommy! It's B-O-B!!!!). He will be incredibly missed in the neighborhood, the parish, the community and of course, we know, your home. We pray for him and for all of you every night and will continue to look out for you, Becky, as we know he would want us to do and as he did for us. God Bless You.

I don't remember Bob well - it's been 30 years since I have seen either of you. - But, Becky, I remember how you felt about Bob and I know you are hurting right now. Bob -
You and your family have been in my life for over 16 years. The Germundson household has always been a place where I have felt loved and welcomed. When I came to visit your family last Sunday, I was almost in shock not to see you sitting in your favorite chair with a mug of coffee saying, "hello dear" as I walked into the living room. I will miss your genuine spirit and smile.
Kelly is one of my longest and truest friends. She has been a constant in my life. The lessons of love, faith and positivity you and Becky have taught her inspire me every time we are together. You have raised an amazing family and they love you so much.

Having spent time with Bob at Josh and Kelly's wedding in 2005, I was stricken with sadness when I learned of his passing. My heart goes out to those who will miss him the most.
Over the course of many conversations with his son-in-law, Josh, I learned that Bob was a great husband, a great father and a great man. The world will surely miss him, but it should be thankful to have had him among its ranks. The hereafter is now a better place because of Bob's recent ascension to it.

We are saddened by the news of Bob's death and we have been talking about all the wonderful memories we have of and with him. We will always remember Bob's warmth and kindness at Christmas and every time we all got together. The last time I saw him he greeted me with a big hug. We know you are going through the roughest of times, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers every hour of the day and will be in the coming months, well forever. Love you all!

Bob's set the bar high with his faith, love of family and friends. Those of us who knew and loved him know of this example that he set for us all. His Legacy will be remembered as those gifts he gave us and he will be sadly missed.

Germundson Family,
I had the pleasure of working with Bob the last 6 years at the airport. He was one of the nicest, hard working and all around great guys you could ask to work with. Whether it was 2pm or 2am he would answer the phone with a friendly voice and be willing to come right in if need be. We will miss Bob and will keep your family in my prayers during this most difficult time. May God help to ease your pain and know that he will be watching over you always.

Dear Becky and family,
What a wonderful man, and what a loss for you and all of us whose lives he touched. Bob was such an excellent role model for Evan when he coached him in little league football. I will always remember how he referred to the players as "gentlemen", and brought out the best in them. He was loved by many, and will be dearly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Becky,
I am so, so sorry for you and your family at this difficult time. I knew Bob only as a very kind and gentle spirit in high school. From the sounds of it, he stayed that way.
My heart goes out to you so much Becky. I cannot stop thinking about you. I am hopeful you will find strength through God along with your wonderful family.
Thoughts and Prayers,

What an ironic twist to life. Today, as I write my condolences, my work calendar reads – Meeting with Bob Germundson 8:00 AM. It was coffee first to discuss the past week of high school football and then we would review current and future work projects. Bob became much more than a colleague over the pat 15 years. He became a very good friend. No matter the circumstances, he always had time to say hello; and do so with a smile! His approach to life and family is an example for all to follow. My heart and prayers go out to his family, who he talked about all the time, and to those who had the privilege to know him. Bob inspired me to be a better person. He will be truly missed and never forgotten.

I have never met such a dedicated and spiritual man in my life's journey such as Bob. I have known him for many years and have worked with him on electrical projects at his second home,(airport). I can share with his family that they were his most important asset,as he always had agreat family story to share with all.I know he will be missed greatly by his family, but he also will be greatly missed by all of us who had the oppurtunity to walk a few miles of life with him. "Rest in pease,Dear Bob".
