Robert Leroy Gilbert

Robert Leroy Gilbert, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2017 at the age of 84. He was born on December 27, 1932 in Goodland, Kansas to Daniel and Erna Gilbert. After graduating from Ft. Hayes College, he spent most of his professional career in Jefferson County, Colorado as an administrator overseeing the county's insurance division. After retirement, he and his late wife, Betty resided in Mesquite, Nevada before relocating to Toledo to be closer to family. While in Colorado, he enjoyed playing the trumpet with a dance band and was also active in a German band there. He was active in the El Jebel Shrine and was also a Mason.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister, Joyce.

Surviving is his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Frank Viviano; grandchildren, Lauren, Jennifer, Frank (Amanda) and Tina.

There will be no visitation and entombment will be private for the family.
