AMESBURY — Robert L. Gosselin, 74, husband of Marie-Anne (Perreault) Gosselin, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
Born in Amesbury on Nov. 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph and Laure (Lemelin) Gosselin.
A lifelong Amesbury resident, he attended Amesbury schools and was a graduate of Amesbury High School with the Class of 1954. Soon after graduation, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his enlistment, he came home and was employed many years at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert J. Gosselin and his wife Susan of Newfield, N.H.; two daughters, Joanne C. Smith of Atkinson, N.H. and Brenda Gosselin of Amesbury; four brothers, Noel Gosselin and wife Annette of Seabrook, N.H., Richard Gosselin of Amesbury, Bernard Gosselin and wife Pauline of E. Kingston, N.H., and Benoit Gosselin and wife Pamela of Amesbury; two sisters, Annette Volak of Haverhill and Muriel Perreault and husband Raymond of Amesbury; his five grandchildren, Jeremy, Kelly, Tyler, Eric, and Leah; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 31 at 10 a.m. in the Holy Family Parish Upper Church on School Street in Amesbury. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph's Cemetery followed by a colation in the Holy Family Parish Hall. Flowers are acceptable or donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
