Robert D. Klemm, 62, of Hemlock Farms in Hawley, PA, formerly of Butler, NJ, died April 18, 2018 after courageously battling an illness for the last two years.

Bob was the son of the late Gustav and Beatrice Klemm and lived in Bloomingdale, NJ until attending college. Bob graduated from Butler High School in 1976 and attended the University of Maine earning a Bachelor of Science degree. He later attended Morris County Community College and Fairleigh Dickinson University earning both an engineering degree and his teacher certification.

Bob was married to Louise (nee King) Klemm for over 23 years and moved to Hemlock Farms in 2015. Bob's stepson, Robert Montanez predeceased him in 2003.Bob worked for the Kearfott Division of the Singer Business Corporation for 25 years as an engineer. After leaving Kearfott, Bob worked as an Industrial Arts and Science teacher for eight years in the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District.

After earning the Eagle Scout rank from the Boy Scouts of America as a youth, Bob remained an avid outdoorsman for his entire life. He enjoyed both fishing and hunting and continued fishing until his illness would no longer allow him to do so. Last year, he caught a 31-pound brown trout in the Niagara River, the largest ever recorded in the State of New York from that body of water.

He is survived by Louise, his wife, of Hemlock Farms; three brothers, Dennis and wife Lisa of Jefferson, NJ, Richard and wife Melissa of West Milford, NJ and Kenneth and wife Leslie of Metairie, LA; his nieces, Allyson Mitchell of Jefferson, NJ, Olivia McNamara and husband Mark of Clinton, NJ, Lauren Klemm of Metairie, LA and June Bea Klemm of West Milford, NJ; his nephews, Gustav Klemm of West Milford, NJ and Nicholas Klemm of Metairie, LA; his sisters-in-law, Joyce Collins and husband Paul of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Lorraine Wilkinson and husband Robert of Deltona, FL, Marion Stark and husband William of Hampton Bays, NY, Sara Anne Williams and husband Gregory of Norwich, CT, Dorothy McArthur and husband Keith of Fishkill, NY and Joan Foley and husband Al of Walden, NY; and his brother-in-law Ray King and wife Bonnie of Altamonte, FL and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, April 24, 2018 followed by interment at Mount Rest Cemetery, Butler, NJ. Visiting hours will be April 23, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 W. Harford St., Milford, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations to www.castforkids.org. would be greatly appreciated by the Klemm family.

My condolences to the entire Klemm family. My fondest memory was boy scouts Troop 86. Bob made Eagle in 1971 and I was fortunate to make it in 1972. He was an inspiration to the younger scouts and always took time help them along. A good friend.
