Robert Lama Obituary
Bob is survived by his three daughters, Susan Scheff, Michele Keally (Kevin), and Gilda Reed (Ed), as well as, his cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn, Scott, Christa, Blake, Paige, Jennifer, Jaclyn, several Great Grandchildren, his Sister Donna Larson (Al), Tom Lama, Niece Desi Mahoney (John) and nephews & cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guido Lama and Julia Guilfoil Lama, as well as his longtime partner, Mary Gesualdo.
Bob received his education at St. Mary's Primary School, attended & graduated from Arlington High School in 1955. He furthered his education and graduated from Florida Southern in Lakeland, FL in 1959.
After college, Bob worked for GE and Washington Growers before going into business with two partners and started, Northeast Restaurant Supply, which he later sold. Bob then worked for Sexton & Emco. Once retiring from the corporate world, he began his new venture: The guy who sells everything. You could find him at Flea markets, festivals, shopping parties and even selling out of the trunk of his car. His mother fondly referred to him as the Yankee peddler.
He enjoyed traveling all over the world with his family, friends and his partner Mary. He was an avid sports fan, passionately following baseball, basketball, and football. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and Rotary.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on Wednesday, August 2nd, between 11:30am and 3pm at Christos, located at 155 Wilbur Blvd. in Poughkeepsie, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Lions Club in memory of Bob, PO Box 303 Pleasant Valley,NY 12569.
Bob will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of love, determination, and community involvement will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

My thoughts and prayers to the whole family. Bob was a good friend to my brother, Earl Misner. He also was special to my uncle Pete who lived with us on Rochdale Rd. Bob spent a lot of time at our house along with the other boys. He will be greatly missed. Frannie Misner Unterborg

We will sadly miss BOB since we were neighbors at the woods in Rhinebeck, we will miss his stories about him growing up in Dutchess county, finding out he dated some of our relatives and also that we were at the same bar in wildwood NJ on Labor Day weekend in 1959, listening to Johnny Mathias sing behind the bar and we wound up being neighbors some 60 years later. Now every time i pass FDR´s house in Hyde Park i remember him telling me that in the 1940´s when he would see route 9 lined up with soldiers in front of FDR´S house he knew FDR was home.
