Reverend Robert Charles Landsberger

St. Cloud - Reverend Robert Charles Landsberger was born on February 11, 1930 in Saint Cloud, MN. He was the son of Nicholas and Clara Juenemann Landsberger. Father Landsberger attended Saint Anthony and Saint Mary's Grade School. He received his seminary training at Saint Lawrence Minor Seminary, Mount Calvary, WI; Catholic University of America, Washington, D. C.; and Saint John's Seminary, Collegeville, MN. Father Landsberger was ordained by The Most Reverend Peter W. Bartholome at the Cathedral of Saint Mary, Saint Cloud, MN, on June 1, 1957. He celebrated his First Mass at Holy Spirit Church, Saint Cloud, MN on June 2, 1957.

Father Landsberger served in the following pastoral assignments in the Diocese of Saint Cloud: associate pastor, Holy Angels, St. Cloud, June 1957-June 1959; Assumption, Morris, June 1959-June 1964; pastor, St. John Nepomuk, Lake Reno, June 1964-June 1968; St. John the Baptist, Bluffton, June 1968-June 1971; Holy Cross, Butler, June 1970-June 1971; St. Henry, Perham, June 1971-June 1983; St. Joseph, Pierz, June 1983-July 1994; St. Michael, Motley, July 1994-September 2003. Father Landsberger retired September 1, 2003.

Father Landsberger was an instructor at Cathedral High School from 1957 until 1959. He also served on the Marriage Tribunal beginning in 1966 until 2007.

Father Landsberger died on February 6, 2018, at the Saint Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, MN. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at the Cathedral of Saint Mary, St. Cloud. Visitation will begin after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Cathedral in St. Cloud.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Saint Mary, St. Cloud, Minnesota, at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018, with The Most Reverend Donald Kettler presiding. Visitation will be one-hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be in the Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud, Minnesota. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Father Landsberger is survived by sisters, Eileen Quigley, Florine Patowski, and Rachel (Arlen) Dusha; and brothers, Gerald (Betty), Father Nicholas, Ronald (Norma), and Leroy (Linda). He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerome, and sisters, Audrey VanDuzer and Grace Pick.
