Robert Lenehan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 1, 2024.
Robert W. Lenehan, 79, passed away on July 29, 2024, in Margate, FL. He was born on December 17, 1944, in Lynn, MA. He was the son of the late Joseph and Gloria (Worster) Lenehan.

Robert was raised in Lynn and Nahant, MA. He graduated from Lynn English High School in 1962. He bravely served in the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. After his military service, he embarked on a career at General Electric in Lynn, MA, and later at Hansen Engineering in Danvers, MA.

Known for his personable nature and distinctive laugh, he made friends easily throughout his life. He enjoyed spending time in North Conway, NH, golfing and skiing over the years. He was also a member of Gannon Golf Course in Lynn before relocating to Florida twenty years ago when he retired.

Robert is survived by his sister-in-law Beverly Lenehan, niece Deborah Lenehan Leonard, nephew David Lenehan, and great-niece and great-nephew, Sara and Paul Leonard. Robert was predeceased by his brother, Paul Lenehan, in 2019.

He was cremated and his ashes will be scattered at sea, as per his wishes. The Neptune Society is assisting the family with arrangements.

If so desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, honoring Robert's service and dedication to fellow veterans.

He will be missed by his family and friends.
