Robert Malizia Obituary
Wappingers Falls - Robert Malizia passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 surrounded by family at his home in Wappingers Falls. He was 68.
Robert was born on July 24, 1949 in the Bronx. He married Laura Cicerello on July 8, 1972 in Scarsdale. Mrs. Malizia survives at home.
Robert served honorably in the United States Army. Robert spent over 40 years working for Con Edison, where he was referred to as Bobby. His years at Con Edison held a special place in his heart.
Aside from his professional life, his other great love was coaching at Robinson Lane for over 15 years. Robert took great joy in teaching the game of baseball. In his retirement years, his great enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his mother, Eleanor Malizia; his wife, Laura; son Jason Malizia and his wife, Karen; daughter, Jennifer Malizia-Calisi and her husband, Anthony Calisi; brother, Richard Malizia and his wife, Donna; and three grandchildren, Travis, Ronan and Keira.
He was predeceased by his son Jonathan, father Joseph and brother Peter.
Family will receive their friends on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 12 noon to 3 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery, Route 9 in Fishkill.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robert's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, www.stjude.org.

I am so sorry to hear of your father's passing. Please know that I am holding your family in my prayers at this time.
Your father gave me a giant insulator to share with my students each year when we did our electricity unit. If I remember correctly, he came and talked to the class about his work at ConEd when I had you as a student. I am retired now and I have a collection of antique insulators. The one he gave me is a precious treasure! Please give your mom a big hug from me.
