Happy Birthday Bobby,
My precious gift from above...
To honor you, I get up everyday and take a breath.
And start another day without you in it.
To honor you, I laugh and love with those who knew your smile
And the way your eyes twinkled with mischief and secret knowledge.
To honor you, I take the time to appreciate everyone I love,
I know now there is no guarantee of days or hours spent in their presence.
To honor you, I listen to music you would have liked,
And sing at the top of my lungs, with the windows rolled down.
To honor you, I take chances, say what I feel, hold nothing back,
Risk making a fool of myself, dance every dance.
You were my light, my heart, my gift of love, from the very highest source.
So everyday, I vow to make a difference, share a smile, live, laugh and love.
Now I live for us both, so all I do, I do to honor you.
I love you Bobby, you are always with me.
Love forever, Mom

Today is Bobby's birthday and we all miss him very much. So I said a prayer to God again, and asked if He could help. I believe the answer that was given is found in the poem that follows:
To My Dearest One On Earth
My dearest one, I'm sending, this letter from above. I know right now you're missing me; I can feel your love.
You think about my birthday, and the day I had to leave. But always remember this; I don't wish for you to grieve.
When I wrote my first letter, from Heaven on that day, I wanted you to understand, that I was doing okay. I knew the hurt of loosing me, would take time for you to heal and even though it's been awhile, to you it seems unreal.
But, Darling here in Heaven, with Jesus by my side, The Golden Gate will open, when you come here to reside. I know it's difficult for you, to understand your pain, but once you arrive in Heaven, it all will be explained.
It's okay for you to cry, just let the tears give way, Then tilt your head and look above, you'll feel my touch today.
Just keep your faith, believe my words; you'll see the morning light.
God and I are with you every morning, noon and night.

I find myself lately thinking a lot about bobby and how I pictured us in the future. I used to picture bobby & I going out to bars having a good time and getting to hang out. I pictured myself at bobby & karen's wedding. I pictured them having beautiful kids, and me being an uncle. I pictured myself growing up, getting married, having kids that bobby could be an uncle to. And the greatest picture I had in my head was sitting at the beach together, or poolside having a few beers, and watching our kids play with each other, the way we used to be when we were younger. Just enjoying each others company, talking about nothing in particular, just so happy and glad that we're there with each other, enjoying life, the only way bobby knew how to live. Bobby, I love you more than anything I have ever loved, and I miss you more than I could ever write in this passage. But I know you're still with us watching and guiding all of us.
I love you guy

A few weeks ago I posted in this forum that...
"To all Bobs family and friends...
On Friday, August 14th at Emerald Hall in Braintree a tribute/memorial/benefit event will be held from 8PM-1AM."
The event is actually on Friday, August 18th. The time and location are still the same, I just typed the wrong date. I am sorry for any inconvenience. Please pass the word about the event and the date correction. Encourage all Bobs (and your) friends to attend.

With Love and Gratitude for Everyone who has posted an entry in Bobby's Guest Book:
Your words have been an unbelievable comfort for our family and have helped us through the most difficult time in our lives.
To read such words of encouragement and love has touched our hearts and helped us to heal. It has been a lifeline for us all.
We have learned a lot about Bobby from this guest book and the many stories you have shared with us. WE knew Bobby was special...WE knew how generous Bobby was...WE knew how lovable Bobby was and how his smile could light up a room...but we never knew how many other people knew that too.
To hear the heartfelt words of so many people that really knew how special Bobby was is so inspiring to me as his mother. In his short life, he really knew what was important. He knew that in the end, the only thing that matters is how much you love other people. He lived his life that way and the many offerings from so many of you confirm that. He taught his brother Brendan and his sisters Kellie and Val invaluable lessons.
I am so thankful that God chose me to be Bobby's mother, and I loved every minute I spent with him. I know that he will be waiting for us and praying for all of us and we will all be together again. Love cannot die and therefore I know Bobby lives.
God Bless every one of you and your families. You are in our prayers and we truly appreciate all the love and support that has been shown to us. It has been such a blessing.

Brendan,
Congratulations on your graduation from BHS! I know Bobby is very proud of you, of your marketing award, of your scholarship and that you're going on to college to fulfill your dream of becoming a police officer. He prayed to God for a little brother and his prayers were answered, and I'm sure he'll be watching from Heaven as you continue to grow and be successful.
Best of luck to you and to the entire Kilroy's softball team for the Summer 2006 season...Bobby left you a bunch of angels in those guys.
Congrats again, Brendan.
P.S. Bobby, please make this rain go away and give us a good summer. It's depressing enough without you here. Thanks!
Love,
Kellie

Dear Donna,
Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. We have worked together for a long time and shared so many conversations about our children. We laughed at some of them and sometimes we cried. You are a wonderful mother and from observing your children, you and Bob have done a great job bringing them up. I guess we never understand why tragedies like this happen. Only God knows. I guess He needs another Angel.
My deepest condolences to you and your family. May God Bless you all.

The Marks Family,
Bobby had the natural ability to light up a room and spread his contagious laugh in an instant. I grew up with Bobby (and Sr. as my coach) in Little League. Even then, Bobby was always there to crack a joke and set the mood for laughter. He carried that ability into his adult years and I know I will always crack a smile when thinking about him. I wish the best for your family and share my deepest sympathy.

Bobby,
In life you were loved dearly and in death we love you still. I will always hold dear the memories I have of you and you will always hold a special place in our hearts. You have left behind an unbelievable legacy and it will always remind me how important it is to surround yourself with great friends and family and never take for granted what God has given us because sometimes the angels call us back home much sooner than planned.
Until we meet again.
Love Always,

Dear,
Donna , Bobby, Kellie, Valerie, Brendan, and Karen,
You have my Sincerest Sympathy on your loss. In time your memories will help you heal. The services for Bobby Jr. were beautiful, what a wonderful showing of Loving Family and Friends that attended!
You must be so Proud! What a great tribute!
I pray that all the rain we have had, will help wash away your tears, and turn them into laughter, with the fun times that you all shared.
Bobby has an amazing group of friends, and family.
When its thundering and lightning out, I would like to think its really the crack of the bat, and a loved one has just hit an out of the park home run!
Then when you see a rainbow after the storm, or the the sun is shining so bright on a beautiful day.. just maybe it's our loved ones shining down upon us.
My Family and I want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this extremely difficut time in your lives.
Our Deepest Sympathy,

Donna and Bob, I wish so badly I could take away all the heartache you feel. I want to thank you both for the gift you gave all when you brought Bobby into the world. So many people received so much from his life and so many have received so much from his death already. Just reading these beautiful words from his friends and family makes us all realize this. Find strength in the fact that his life gave meaning to so many, that people have inspirations to improve their life because of Bobby. This is so powerful. For all that do improve, you give one back to Bobby!
Karen it was so nice to meet you. you are a beautiful person inside and out. It is no wonder Bobby fell in love with you. As hard as it may be don't loose site of your goals. I'll be waiting for your call when you finish school.

The Marks Family,
I will cherish the memories of babysitting your kids when they were little. I have alot of funny memories of them and I was glad to be your neighbor and friend for the beginning parts of their lives. Even though it has been 13 years since I last saw Bobby, I will always remember him in my heart. He was always such a nice boy and he grew up to be such a handsome young man. I am sad that I didn't know him now but will cherish the times that I did know him. I will keep in touch and if you should need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to, I will be there. Take Care.

My Dear Donna and her family...
I have always found these words of great comfort and I share them with you in your time of deep sorrow.......perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know they are happy.
Lately, I look up at the heavens a lot...sometimes I even smile at all the stars shining back at me.......in time, dear friend, in time. I hug you close..

This was one of the mos painfull days of my lifeto have to say a final good-buy to one of the greatest friends in my life. Evan though I have not seen Bobby in a long time I still loved him like a brother. I'll never forget how we used to spend sunday mornings on the couch watching sportscenter and arguing about sports. You weren't just my brother, you were my brother, best friend, sports consultant and my guy. You were so loved, by so many people, and that love will live on. I'm going to make you so proud with everything that I ever do for the rest of my life, and I know you will be there with me every step of the way. See you at graduation...I love you guy.

I miss my son so much. I can’t believe how much this hurts. My heart is broken in two, and I don’t know if it’s ever going to heal. I’m never going to see him marry and I’m never going to be a grandfather to his children. I’ll never see him play ball again, something that I was so proud to watch him do. He was a fantastic athlete, no matter what the sport. He was a great brother to his two sisters, whom he was extremely proud of, and he loved his little brother Brendan beyond words.
Bobby had the best group of friends anyone could ask for. I am so touched by the love these friends have for Bobby. We have heard from people all over the country that he has touched. Bobby had a core group of friends from Braintree though, and these guys have been a great comfort to me and Donna, Karen and my children. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart.
My heart breaks for my family to go through this, especially Karen, Bobby’s girlfriend, who Bobby loves very much. We love you Karen.
So I want to thank everyone who has
been there for us in our hours and
days of need. May God bless you and
God bless our son Bob.

Dear Bobby,
I have so many memories of us growing up together, but not enough of us “all grown up.” I remember playing in our combined yard, swimming in the pool, you and pat playing b-ball, and us girls making up dances, but then we moved. It was only a short distance but unfortunately it changed too much. I see your friends now, and I’m jealous that you were the life of their party. I wish we stayed as close as we were. All I have heard lately is how everyone wanted to be around you, hang out with you; you made their days and nights. No matter when or how we knew you, we will all cherish the memories we have of you. I’m sure everyone will agree, “Your candle blew out long before your legend ever did (will).”
Love Always,
Jamie

Bob was a like a brother to me for 11yrs. I would like to thank him for everything he ever did for me, especially for being my freind. He was a great guy, no words could possibly do him justice, but the fact that he already has 11pgs of emotional testimonials, pretty much sums up how he effected the people who were blessed enough to know him. Thanx Bob

Donna and Bob: In this time of sorrow, take solace in knowing that Bobby is in God's gentle hands now and forever. When we think of him he brings a smile to my heart, love and laughter to Dennis (he was his second son and best audience) and someone to look up to for Dennis, Jr. who loved him. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. God bless you both and give you strength.

For me at least nothing seems to alleviate the pain that engulfed my entire body when I got the phone call from the police and Bob Sr. on Sunday morning. I am sure it is very much the same for all of you too. I can see it in peoples faces. We can all hang in there together.
I wanted to thank all the good people who supported my brother Bob and Donna, Kelly, Valerie and Brendan. Whatever they needed in their crisis, they got. That is a credit to the love people have for tehm and for Bobby. Thank you to all the people who supported my own family... Joan, Jenny, Jamie and Patrick Marks as well. Even though nothing changes it does help to be supported from people we care about... so it is very much appreciated.
Our family lived next door to Bobby for many years so we got to see him a lot and we will hang on to those great memories.
Bobbys premature passing is a painful reminder about how cruel and unpredictable life can be. I am personally reminded, as I am sure you are, that life is short and that we should remember to enjoy every single day, every minute, with family and friends. Bobby lived his life, and left a lasting, positive impression on all of us. Good for him, and us.

Bobby,
You have changed the lives of many and always seemed to put a smile on anyone’s face that you came into contact with. I will never forget your contagious laugh. You have taught me yet another lesson “Live everyday like it is your last”. I will never forget you. Sleep softly and may we meet again in a better place.
I love you.
