MORETON Robert James.
Of Sunningdale.
Passed away peacefully at his home on New Year's Day, after a long illness, being cared for by Family and Friends.
He is now with his greatest love Valerie, without whom his life was never quite complete andnow they will be together for all time. He will be greatly missed by his Daughter Rosamund and Son Adrian who were with him till the end.
He was devoted to his Family and will be greatly missed by his Mother Peggy, Brother Andrew, his Granddaughters Isobel and Abigail and Nieces Jessica and Rebecca who were always in his thoughts and his love of them was something that gave him great joy.
So many people were part of his life, either as Family or as a Friend and all would agree that he was a kind and loving gentleman and his devotion to those he knew means that he will be greatly missed by all who call him their Friend.
His humour shone through and he always had a smile and a passion for life, who thought more of others than himself.
His working lifewas devoted to golf and this saw him move around the country, where he and Val made some lifelong Friends that were never far from his thoughts.
His career as a Head Greenkeeper spanned 44 years, starting at Flempton, moving to Bishops Stortford, Ashburnham and Patshull Park Golf Clubs, each greatly enriched by his love of golf and passion for his job. He retired from The Berkshire Golf Club after 20 years of hard work, endeavour and enjoyment that saw him become a much respected mentor to a number of younger Green Keepers.
The Funeral will take place at East Hampstead, Berkshire on January 19, at 12.45pm, followed by a meeting of Friends and Family at The Berkshire Golf Club from 1.45pm.
It is requested that no floral tributes be sent, but any donations to either The Thames Valley Hospice, Windsor or The British Heart Foundation will be greatly accepted.
