Robert (Bob) F Morgan, 73 of Grain Valley, MO, passed away on September 20, 2022. He was born on October 12, 1948, in Kansas City, MO to Herbert and Charlotte Morgan.

Bob was raised in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Ruskin High School in 1966. During his younger years, he had a love for sports. He thoroughly enjoyed playing hockey and was an excellent baseball catcher. Many coaches believed he was capable and had the ability to go pro but Bob had other dreams in life. Bob and his wife Cheryl were married in 1976 and established their home in Grain Valley, MO after living in Blue Springs for several years. He spent many years as a Union carpet layer and wallpaper hanger. Bob was talented in every endeavor he set his mind to accomplish. He had a love for firearms hunting but the thrill and challenge of bowhunting lead him to be an avid archery hunter. He studied turkey and other wildlife by sitting in the woods and recording their sounds. That's when he got into turkey calling. Bob either won or placed in over 75 turkey calling competitions and even won the All-American and U.S. Open Turkey Calling contests. From there, he got into Bass Fishing and had several 1st place finishes in the Red Man Tournament Trail and other Bass Fishing tournaments. Bob would spend time perfecting a hobby and then move on to the next challenge. He then decided he wanted to learn how to make knives, so he tracked down one of the best knife makers in the U.S. and spent a weekend watching, learning every step to make a knife from scratch. With his notes, he went home and got to work, basically taught himself to be an extremely talented knife maker and engraver. His work was so impressive that he was invited to be a member of The Knifemakers Guild. His talents were endless, whatever he set his mind to do, he was determined to be the best at it. He also enjoyed trapping, camping, clock repairs, fixing anything and everything, cooking, pizza with "toppings to the edge" and finding treasures at auctions, estate sales and antique malls. His love for the outdoors was like no other. He also got a lot of satisfaction from teaching others the things he learned about the outdoor activities that he loved as well as promoting safety and wildlife management programs. Bob had a goofy side with a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. The love for his family was unmeasurable and he will be dearly missed.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters: Patricia Morgan of Ottawa, KS and Betty Hauser of Wichita, KS, and his brother Richard Morgan of Lee's Summit, MO. He is survived by his wife of nearly 46 years, Cheryl (Dyer) Morgan, his daughters: Kelly (Neils) Sorensen of Overland Park, KS and Lisa (Tony) Snorgrass of Grain Valley, MO, his son Brian (Stephanie) Morgan of Independence, MO and eight Grandchildren (Cassidy, Lindsay, Dalton, Brayden, Madison, Charlie, Grace and Gavin). He is also survived by his brother Larry Morgan of Grain Valley, MO.
