Ambassador Oakley was a great leader at Embassy in Pakistan, and both of us really enjoyed working with the two of you. We may not have had “the natives coming over the wall,” but there were moments during our time in Pakistan when the possibility did not stretch the imagination. Our tour in Pakistan was stimulating and rewarding, particularly because we had a capable, experienced hand at the helm.
Our condolences.

I served as an intelligence analyst on terrorism at diplomatic security at State when Ambassador Oakley was head of S/CT. He was very approachable, sharp, would give me a meeting anytime. Unfortunately, I walked into his office most of the time without an appointment. Simply put, a true loss to the nation. A real honest to God loss. My deep condolences to his family.

Hugs from us. We know your dogs will help with the process during these tough times. Hope to see you in April if you are in town. I still remember your delight in finding your father's company items in the storage area of our Children's Museum.
