Robert " Bob" Perricone died after years of struggle with Parkinson's disease. We met and became fast friends at the YMCA. Bob was a paddleball player with a bunch of funny, loud and wonderful players. They played at the same time as we did cardio workouts. If you were a kid growing up in the playgrounds you can appreciate how we kidded each other in the locker room and it was a great way to start your busy day trying to make a living. Our group socialized together and the bond was strong. Bob was the brunt of a lot of my kidding, especially since he was part of the DeNino pizza empire. I always insisted that my bill be put of Bob's account but all he did was roll his eyes and say something in retort. His daughters were part of the scam I tried to pull on Bob and they were such a treat to know. Over the years Bob suffered, Carol, his best catch, was the epitome of a loving, caring, strong woman. It would be an understatement to say she is an example to all of us. It's true and sincere to say that I loved Bob as a friend and was always a loyal and real pleasure to be with. God grant Carol and the family comfort and my the good Lord be patient with all those paddleball players Bob joins in his reward for being a good and faithful husband, father, grandfather and NYFD veteran. RIP Bob always in our prayers
