Robert A. Peznola

ALTON – Robert A. Peznola died peacefully at his home Dec. 17, 2014, in Alton at the age of 79.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Margaret (Brown); sons Robert Jr. and wife Jennifer of Roswell, Ga., Col. USMC (Ret.) Michael and wife Milissa of Stafford, Va., Joseph and his wife Deborah of Hudson, Mass., and John and wife Buffy of Leominster, Mass.; his daughter Julie Hatt and husband Peter of Edgartown, Mass.; and his son-in-law Scott Binney of Norwood, Mass. He was predeceased by his daughter Jamie Binney. He leaves behind 18 grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Annette Quinn of East Bridgewater, Mass. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Theresa Peznola of East Bridgewater, Mass., and brothers Guy of Longmeadow, Mass., and Donald of West Roxbury, Mass.

He served in the Navy from 1955 to 1957 and received an honorable discharge. Bob was a master electrician, starting his career working for his father-in-law's business Brown & Carpenter and later starting his own firm RJ Michael John.

Fiercely committed to his family, Bob was a hockey and baseball coach for his children in the Brockton Youth leagues and was an active member of Our Lady of Rosary Church, Stoughton, Mass.

Retiring in 2010, he and his wife Peg moved to their longtime summer home in Alton, continuing to make great memories with their six children and grandchildren, establishing long-term relationships with all their friends at Fernhill.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Waters Funeral Home, 50 S. Main St., in Concord.

A funeral Mass will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist, 72 S. Main St., in Concord.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718 in Bob's memory.
