Unfortunately, my earlier message was disrupted and I was not able to finish the rest of my thoughts about Bob.
Most importantly, Bob was one of the most dedicated teachers in the department. It was not uncommon for me to walk into his office and he would be working on some aspect of his teaching. He was continually updating his courses to keep up with the current findings and he was respected by students and faculty for doing so. I sort of lost touch with Bob after he retired but on occasion we would talk when I would see him on one of his walks.
I now wish that I would have spent more time with him after his retirement. He was a scholar and gentleman.

I remember Dr. Rankin from my student days. Was a top-notch instructor, friendly, approachable. One of the very best in his field of Social Psychology!
