Robert New Palestine Lee Robertson In Loving Memory of Robert Lee Robertson

June 17, 1940 - June 30, 2025

Robert Lee Robertson of New Palestine, Indiana, entered eternal rest on June 30th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family and faith. Born on June 17, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Harold D. and Lois Kramer Robertson, Robert lived a life of service, devotion, and community leadership.

He was baptized on April 11, 1954, at the United Methodist Church in New Palestine by Minister Ross E. Vandine, and later confirmed on August 9, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church under the guidance of Pastor Werner P. Krug. His confirmation verse, John 8:31-32, was a guiding light in his life:

"If ye continue in My Word, then are ye My Disciples indeed, and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

A proud graduate of New Palestine High School in 1958, Robert answered the call to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1962. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Marcia Dost, on March 29, 1964, at Zion Lutheran Church.

Robert worked as a dedicated electrician for over 50 years with IBEW Local 481, contributing his skills to projects large and small with unmatched integrity and professionalism.

Deeply involved in his community, Robert served as President of the New Palestine Lions Club, was an active member of American Legion Post #186, and served in many roles at Zion Lutheran Church, including Cemetery Board, School Board, Building Committee, and youth sports coach. He also dedicated time to coaching New Palestine Youth League baseball and Hancock County soccer, and he played a key role on the committee for the Veterans Memorial at Sugar Creek Park.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marcia Dost Robertson; children: Christopher (Margo) Robertson, Michael (Robin) Robertson, and Beth Robertson; grandchildren: Blayne Robertson, Trenten Bradley, Jacob William (Karessa) Robertson, Nicholas Bradley, Madison Robertson, Christian Robertson, and Andrew Robertson; and great-grandson Paxton Robertson. He is also survived by siblings Linda (John) Robertson Bauer, James Robertson, Judy Robertson Hotle, Anita (Phil) Robertson Walters, and sisters-in-law Joyce Cherry Dost and Arnola Dost Coffman, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kay Robertson Peters Gipson, brother David Robertson, and several brother/sister-in-laws and nephews.

Robert's legacy is one of faith, service, and love-for his family, his church, his country, and his community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered
