Funeral Services and Mass of Christian Burial for Robert "Bob" M. Schadt, Sr., 62, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m today at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, where a Prayer Service will be offered at 4 p.m.
Bob died Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus. Robert Martin Schadt Sr. was born July 16, 1943, in Davenport, the son of William and Gladys (Lohf) Schadt. He married Joanne E. Cisler on September 2, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Davenport, where he was a lifetime member.
Bob was employed for 38 years at JI Case in Bettendorf and then for Case New Holland in East Moline as an UAW Skilled Trade machine repairman.
Bob loved to hunt and fish with his boys and numerous friends. The early morning breakfast that he served in the duck blind was a joy for him. He was known for his woodworking skills, and made many beautiful keepsakes for his family to cherish. He enjoyed 20 years of stock car racing at the local dirt tracks.
Bob was a fabulous husband, father and grandfather. His best times were spent with family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the family for a gift to be purchased for St. Mary's Church in memory of Bob.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne, of Davenport; a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Randy Raabe, Davenport; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert "Marty" and Jodi Schadt Jr., East Moline, Illinois, John and Barb Schadt, LeClaire, and Brian and Breanne Schadt, Davenport; grandchildren, Amy, D.J., Angie, Amber, Nick, Dylan, Will, Steve, and Katie. He loving called them "His Creeps!" Also surviving is a brother and sister-in-law, William and Nancy Schadt, Bettendorf; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Edie and Rob Horn, Blue Grass, and Elaine and Royal Benjamin, Parker, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family that loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. It brought back memories when we were younger. Sorry we couldn't be there to see you. Our prayers are with you and your family.

We were saddened to hear of Bob's sudden death. We enjoyed having him as a patient and enjoyed talking with him on a multitude of topics. He will be missed. Our prayers are with you.
