Robert Eugene Smith

Robert Eugene Smith passed away October 26, 2025. He was 91. Son of the late JB and Euna Smith of Ranger WV, Bob was preceded in death by wife Betty, Sister Joyce and Son Steven (Kathy). He is survived by brother Billy (Ellen) in Clinton, MD. After graduating from Guyan Valley High School Bob moved to Columbus, OH. After serving two years in the U.S. Army as a missile technician, Bob returned to Columbus to continue employment with North American Aviation. Years later he worked at RimRoc corporation until retiring. Growing up in Ranger Bob enjoyed activities with friends including hunting, fishing and swimming in the Guyan river. An avid marbles player at Ranger grade school, Bob won the Lincoln County marbles championship, advancing to the national finals in Wildwood NJ. There he finished among the top six contenders. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 8th 12:00 noon at Evans funeral home 4171 E. Livingstone Avenue followed by military honors at his burial site.
