Robert Snook Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 10, 2025.
Robert Ray "Bob" Snook Jr., age 79, of Loveland, Colorado, passed away suddenly at his home on August 25, 2025, due to an unexpected medical event.

Born in Santa Barbara, California, on October 11, 1945, Bob experienced a life of rich adventure from an early age, moving frequently around the country and overseas due to his father's military service. His family eventually settled in Burlington, Massachusetts, where Bob graduated from Burlington High School in 1963, where he proudly served as captain of both football and basketball teams - an early reflection of his drive, dedication and team spirit.

Bob pursued higher education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, before earning his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Salem State College in 1969. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1968 and served with distinction until an injury led to his honorable discharge in 1971. During his service, he was honored to be selected as a Colonel's Orderly-a role that recognized his reliability and integrity.

Bob began his teaching career in Burlington, Massachusetts. In 1974, he moved with his family to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he continued to shape young minds and serve his community. He taught at Cache La Poudre Elementary and Livermore School, before finishing his educational career at Irish Elementary, where he served as 6th grade teacher, administrator, and bus driver. For Bob, teaching was never just a job; it was a calling. His students often told him, "You were my favorite teacher," a testament to the care and heart he poured into every lesson and every child.

After retiring from education, Bob remained deeply connected to his community through professional driving roles for Kinyon Transport, Yancy's Food Service, Leprino Transportation, and Transfort with the City of Fort Collins where he was a bus operator and trainer. Whether behind the wheel or in the classroom, Bob brought warmth, humor, and an unshakable kindness that left a lasting impression on everyone he met, because for Bob, it was never just a job; he truly cared.

A man who found peace in nature, Bob had a deep love for the outdoors and a special place in his heart for his beloved dogs over the years-Sabrina, Bernie, Annie, Lucy and Gizmo-with honorary mentions to his granddogs - Trudi and Daisy.

Though our hearts ache with his absence, we rejoice in knowing he is now whole and at peace, fully restored in the presence of his Savior. His life was a reflection of Christ's love-steadfast, sacrificial, and overflowing. That love touched everyone he met and pointed us toward something greater and eternal. We picture him now, stepping into eternity with the same joy, laughter, and unmistakable spirit that made him so beloved here on earth. More than anything, he longed for others to know the hope he found in Jesus-a quiet but constant burden he carried, and a truth he would want each of us to seek for ourselves. -John 3:16

Bob is survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 57 years, Carolyn Snook; his daughter Nicole Bargren of Loveland, CO, her husband Andrew, and their children, Ryden and Tanner; his brother Larry Snook and sister in law, Lynne from Burlington MA along with their children Julie, Jennifer & Mathew; and his sister Deborah Phillips and brother in law Ted, of Thornton, CO, along with their daughter Melissa.

Donations in his honor may be made to Faith Church where he faithfully attended. Mailing address is: Faith Church Loveland 2707 Wilson Ave, Loveland, CO 80538 or online: https://www.simplechurchgiving.net/app/giving/faithec

Bobby had such a great sense of humor. He was so easy to talk to. My earliest memory of Bobby is sitting around the breakfast table in Camden, DE with Valerie, Debbie, Larry, and Bobby. My Aunt Ony had moved closed to my mom, her sister Natalie, when Uncle Bob got stationed in Germany. Larry wanted cinnamon toast and Bobby wanted coffee so mom put just a bit in his glass of milk. Everyone was getting ready to go to school except me, I was too young. Bobby had the biggest heart of anyone I ever knew. We talked over the phone several times in the past year and it was great to share the memories. Bob had a uniquely pure and grateful sense of faith for Christ and love for the Lord. I´m sure we will all see him again.
