Robert SOKIL Obituary
With heavy hearts, we regretfully announce the untimely and sudden passing of our beloved Robert John Sokil. The only solace in this tragedy is that he did not suffer, and passed peacefully and humbly in his sleep. Already, those who love him feel Robert's absence acutely. Robert will always be cherished as a devoted father, partner, and friend. His willingness to put others above himself and generous nature are remembered fondly.
Robert is survived by his daughters Katie and Robyn, his loving fiancée and partner Valerie Clyne, his brother Greg (Angie), and his niece and nephews Allison (Ari), and Stephen; Uncle Russell (Joy) Sokil and their daughter, Kim; and Aunt Anne Hoagg. However, countless more mourn him. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Marjorie Sokil.
Funeral Service Monday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 – 111 Avenue. Yvonne Racine officiating with interment in Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & Nunavut, 10985 - 124 Street NW, Edmonton, AB T5M 0H9.

My deepest sympathies to the Sokil Family. We have lost a truly generous friend and loved one.
The times we spent together on the executive of the Northern Alberta Transportation Club and representing the Edmonton Region and Sokil Group meeting with Kamaz Trucks in Naberezhnye Chely, USSR will always be fondly remembered .

Both Susan and myself were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Rob Sokil. We had the pleasure to know both Rob and Lillian as good friends & excellent neighbours during our years in Alberta. It is with great sadness that I hear of Rob's passing. He was a great friend in junior high, high school and university. I will always re,ember Rob as a generous, fun , pleasant and intelligent individual. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. I most fondly remember being in the junior high band , with him playing the tube, Greg playing the trombone and myself playing the trumpet !! We made a great deal of noise!! It was great fun playing junior football with Rob, and I do remember that he was usually last doing laps around the goalposts!

I am very sad to hear of Rob's passing. I knew him well in high school - he was friendly, outgoing, gregarious and quite generous. We had a lot of fun and great times laughing in class...at the lunchtable...and most of all, a lot of great times on the weekends at house parties and playing loud rock music. None of us were very good, but it didn't really matter! I remember Rob loved his Rickenbacker bass guitar and Ampeg SVT bass amplifier. It was louder than the gods and was just about too much fun! All good times and fond memories! I lost touch with Rob in University as we headed down different academic paths but will always remember what a smart, dedicated and fun-loving person he was. Deepest condolences to Rob's family - he was a good guy and will be missed.

Rob was a great friend and business partner for many years. Always generous and caring. A proud and supportive father. A great sense of humour and very interested in music and special community shows and events. His smiling face and gentle laughter will be missed. Take care Rob.
