Robert Chambliss Troxler

May 2, 1941 - March 11, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Chambliss Troxler on March 11, 2025. Bob was a remarkable man whose career, integrity, and warmth touched many lives across the globe.

Born on May 2, 1941 in Richmond, Virginia, Bob grew up in a family shaped by service and global engagement. His father, Colonel Paul D. Troxler, served in the Army Corps of Engineers and also worked in the private sector, taking the family to Persia (now Iran), Libya, Greece, and Pakistan. This international upbringing gave Bob a lifelong global perspective that shaped both his professional and personal life.

Bob graduated from the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in 1963, where he served as a Cadet Captain and earned recognition as a Distinguished Military Graduate. He remained dedicated to VMI throughout his life, serving on the Finance Committee and Strategic Planning Committee and helping to raise more than $20 million for the Institute's 50th Reunion Campaign.

After military service as a Captain in the Armored Corps and Intelligence, Bob earned an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1970. He went on to have a distinguished 36-year career with Citigroup, where he held senior leadership roles in investment banking, asset management, and investor relations in Frankfurt, Brussels, New York, London, and Geneva. In 2006, Bob founded GlobalView Investments S.A. in Geneva, providing strategic wealth management to ultra-high-net-worth clients in Europe and the Middle East.

Bob lived a life filled with rich experiences and global perspectives, traveling to most continents on multiple occasions. He shared a deep and loving partnership with his wife, Nancy Clark, whom he married in 1969. Together, they explored the world and made lifelong memories, including more than 30 years cruising the French waterways on their barge, Trox.

Bob was passionate about supporting justice and human rights. He served on the advisory board of Civitas Maxima, an organization dedicated to representing victims of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Bob is survived by his three sons, Peter, Christopher, and Michael; his daughters-in-law, Kara, Mia, and Lisa; six grandchildren; and his sister, Anne Troxler Hoover. He was predeceased by his wife, Nancy Clark Troxler; his father, Paul Dexter Troxler; his mother, Leonora Chambliss Drewry Troxler; and his brother, Paul Drewry Troxler.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced directly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Civitas Maxima (www.civitas-maxima.org/donate) or the Virginia Military Institute Foundation (www.vmialumni.org).

Dear family,

It is with great sadness that we learned of Robert´s passing.
We had the pleasure of spending several years as neighbors with Robert and Nancy when they lived in Geneva. We greatly appreciated their discretion, as well as the bond we developed after moving into the same building.

We have fond memories of Bob and of Nancy.
We shared a few lovely evenings together, which we remember warmly. Their kindness and generosity truly touched us-especially when, after we mentioned a trip to the United States, they offered us the use of their apartment in New York, which we were able to enjoy for a few days.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
