Robert V. "Buzzer" Viator, Jr., 79, of Gloucester passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Anna M. (Pata) Viator with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. Buzzer was born April 10, 1939 in Gloucester, he is the son of the late Robert V. and Ethel May (Saunders) Viator. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and attended Gloucester High School. Buzzer worked as a Fork lift operator in the Freezer at Gortons for 42 years until his retirement in 2001. After his retirement he enjoyed working for his son-in-law David at Footies Chimney and was also was a Maintenance Man for Woodward and Curran. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing keno, scratch tickets taking a ride on the back shore with a cup of coffee as well as lobstering. He was a member of the National Guard for 8 years. He and Anna loved to travel they especially enjoyed Portugal, Marco Island and Bermuda to name a few. In addition to his loving wife Anna, Buzzer is survived by his daughter Annette Foote and her companion Brian Cusick, his son Michael Viator and his companion Melissa Jaksland, his sister Beverly Lopes and her husband Robert all of Gloucester. He is the cherished grandfather to his 6 loving grandchildren Alisha Carlson and her husband Chris, Brittany Foote, Skye Foote and her companion Hunter Cooper, Michael R. Amero-Viator, Lily Amero-Viator and Robert Viator. He is also survived by his 4 great grandchildren Gianna Carlson, Valentina Carlson, Ava Foote and Alex Leahy, his former son-in-law David Foote, his niece Nicole Geanoulis and her husband Jonathan and their children Dakota and Wyatt. In addition to his mother and father Buzzer is predeceased by his son Robert V. Viator, III. Buzzer's family would like to thank Dr. Derrick Lin and his staff at Mass Eye and Ear as well as the staff at Mass General Hospital for the care they provided over the past two months. Buzzer's Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, 142 Prospect St. Gloucester, Friday, November 30, 2018 at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow Mass in Calvary Cemetery. In honoring with Buzzer's wishes there will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to American Cancer Society 30 Speen St, Framingham, MA 01701.

We are saddened by the physical loss of our brother-in-law, Buzzer. We have wonderful memories of celebrations and good times. He will be remembered in our hearts and will live on in the lives of his children, grand children and great grandchildren. Love, Fatima & Brian and Family
