Robert William Wissinger Robert William Wissinger, 68, of Barboursville, died on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at his residence, following a brief courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on August 8, 1943, in Sarver, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Lee William Wissinger and Della Simmers Wissinger.

Mr. Wissinger was a retired United States Navy veteran for twenty eight years of active duty.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Elizabeth Wissinger of Barboursville; three daughters, Tina A. McNeal and husband, Mike, of Meridan, Mississippi, Tammie L. Lyles and husband, David, of Camden, South Carolina, Kimberly N. Wissinger of Hayesville, North Carolina; three sons, Robert Todd Wissinger and wife, Jennifer, of Greenville, South Carolina, Timothy W. Wissinger and wife, Jennifer, of Burke, Virginia, Corey R. Wissinger of Charlottesville, Virginia; four brothers, Gary E. Wissinger of Sarver, Pennsylvania, Kenneth H. Wissinger and wife, Sharon, of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania, Ronald H. Wissinger, Richard A. Wissinger and wife, Dawn, all of Butler, Pennsylvania; three sisters, Judy Roudybusch and husband, Fran, Joyce A. Sasse and husband, Russell, Linda J. Coward and husband, Gerald, all of Sarver, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison conducted by the Reverend Richard Thurston. The interment will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the funeral home.
