Roberta Louise Medley Brown

Roberta Louise Medley – Brown, age 50, of Sunny Gap Rd in Conway, departed this world and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 25, 2003. She was born in Fayetteville, AR on November 27, 1952 to Orland Dale Medley and Mary Lou Danley Medley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Matthew Brown of Little Rock.

Ms. Brown graduated as salutorian from Desha Central High School in Rohwer, AR where she was a cheerleader, basketball all star, homecoming queen, yearbook editor, Betty Crocker award winner and attended Arkansas Girl’s State. She attended college at U of A in Monticello. She was employed for several years by Falcon jet in Little Rock as an airplane electrician and eventually moved to San Antonio, Texas.

After returning to Arkansas in 1999 she became an active member of Liberty Church of Christ. She loved to make quilts by hand and was a very generous and loving person always eager to help. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend who will be truly missed.

She is survived by three children: a daughter Vanessa Yvonne Funderburg of Huntsville, Alabama; a son: Michael S. Funderburg and his wife Marcella also of Huntsville, Alabama, a daughter: Halley Unika Brown of the home, her mother and father: Orland Dale Medley and stepmother Patricia Medley of Conway; her mother: Mary Lou Medley of Trenton, Georgia, one brother: Louis E. Medley of Van Nuys, CA.; two sisters: Paula Jean Reichard and husband Tom of Conway; Verna Jane Burgess and husband Garry of Cloudland, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews, cousins and one great nephew.

There will be a gathering of remembrance held 10:00a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003 at the chapel of Griffin Leggett Conway with Jim Davis and Tim Allison officiating. Interment will follow at New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday night from 6-8 in the East Room of Griffin Leggett.
