Roberta Gillett Obituary
Roberta was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Rose Morris; her brother Donald Morris Jr.; and her nephew Seth Meeker. Their memories remained close to Roberta's heart throughout her life.
Roberta shared 42 devoted years of marriage with her husband, Donald Gillett Jr., building a life rooted in love. Together they raised two daughters, Amy Freeh and her husband Kyle, and Kelly Gillett. Roberta's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family to embrace a wide circle of loved ones.
She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Donna Boyce; Frances Slesinsky and her husband Vincent; LaNette Basos and her husband David; and Patricia Meeker and her husband Kevin. Her mother-in-law JoAnn Staats and sister-in-law Beverly Gillett and her partner Troy Carley were also cherished parts of Roberta's life. She held a special place in her heart for her six nephews and seven nieces, as well as their children.
Those who knew Roberta will remember her as someone who loved selflessly and unconditionally. Whether offering an unbiased ear or a warm embrace, she was always present with grace and empathy. Her kindness left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many healthcare professionals who cared for Roberta over the past 19 months. Special thanks goes to Dr. Kenneth Foxx and Mariah Simmons, NP of UHS Neurosurgery; Dr. Harris and Michelle Rising, NP of Broome Oncology; Dr. Rashid of UHS Radiology Oncology; Eric Phelan, PA; Abha Kadam, NP of UHS Primary Care Endwell; as well as the physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, aides, and ancillary staff at UHS Hospitals for their exceptional care and compassion.
May Roberta's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 9, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at McGirk's Irish Pub.

My heart goes out to Roberta 's (HEATHER) family. When I first met her at BDC she was our pantry worker..I called her Heather she laughed said that wasn't her name but I could call her that.. She was such a caring person. RIP Heather you will be missed...
