HOLYOKE: Roger F. Sugrue, age 56, of Holyoke, died on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was born in Springfield, was a 1974 graduate of Holyoke High School, attended Holyoke Community College and graduated from New England Tractor Trailer Training School in CT. Roger had worked as a truck driver at the former Consolidated Freight Company in Chicopee and since 2006 had been employed at YRC, Inc. of Westfield. He was an avid sportsman, hockey player, and soccer fan who enjoyed watching his children play soccer. Roger was a coin collector, a huge John Wayne fan, was known for wearing a cowboy hat and boots, as well as shorts all year round. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Louise (Tetreault) Sugrue, two daughters, Gillian C. Sugrue of Easthampton and Jessica L. Sugrue of Chicopee, his father, Roger F. Sugrue of Holyoke, his mother and step-father, Clare Sugrue Rigali and her husband, Dr. Louis A. Rigali of Holyoke, one brother, Michael E. Sugrue and his wife Dr. Keyla Kleyser-Sugrue of Holyoke, two sisters, Kathleen A. Sugrue-Richards and her husband Carl of Douglas, MA, and Donna M. Sugrue and her husband Chuck Long of Hampden, MA, several aunts and uncles, including his godfather, Bernard Ott and his wife Jacqueline of Agawam, Margaret "Aunt Mar" Ott and her husband Isaac of Holyoke, Matthew Ott and his wife Korki of FL, Terrance Sugrue and his wife Gertrude of Holyoke, 4 step-brothers and sisters, Dr. Linda Rigali and her husband Dr. James Clayton of Northampton, Carla and David Fazio of Agawam, Dana and Michael Henry of Beverly, MA and David Rigali and Constance Greaney of Minneapolis, MN, a sister-in-law, Susan Camilleri and her husband, Rogers best friend, Randy of Easthampton, and a brother-in-law, David Tetreault and his wife Carla of CA, three nephews, Aidan and Liam Sugrue, and Ricky Camilleri as well as many cousins and their families. The Funeral will be held Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cross Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club, Inc. 70 Nick Cosmos Way, Holyoke, MA 01040.
